These are my favorite pair of pajamas for Ben right now – so of course we took pictures.
Month: May 2018
Buddies just doing a little Pokemon drawing.
I’m pretty sure he is hoping something, anything, will intervene with his dishwasher unloading chore.
Granny and Pop have sent pictures from all kinds of cool places that I have never seen before in Memphis.
Do you associate colors with your children? I’m not sure I originally did this with Alex, but Teague has always been blue. Kaitlyn has always been pink. Somewhere along the way Alex became red. I’m pretty sure Ben’s color is going to be green.
Ben’s 6 month pictures on the blanket.
Lucky for this guy – soccer season is almost over.
I had to drop something off at Teague’s school today and ran across this in the hall. Hilarious.
Kaitlyn begs for the car cart at the grocery store in Grafton, but the cart portion is smaller. Ben is still in the infant car seat and I already lose so much cart space to that. She is getting all the stuff with Granny and Pop that Mom can’t do.
The first picture of Ben eating real food- broccoli.
(His first real food was cucumber but I was holding him and it’s hard to hold him and take a picture.)
(We skipped purees with this baby and went straight for the good stuff. He loves it and it has made my life simpler – if messier.)
Taekwondo is a whole new world for us. I’ve begun to learn all kinds of new things. See the colored stripes on Teague’s white belt? They have meaning. The yellow stripes show when he has learned something needed to pass his next belt test – in this instance his yellow belt test. The black stripes are given at the discretion of his teacher for any number of things – exemplary behavior, being the best at a new skill, helping a friend, etc.
Sometimes it’s really hard to be 9.
(Sometimes it’s even harder to be parents to a 9 year old.)
Teague has definitely found a sport he loves.
What an awesome outdoor kitchen.
Ben is rarely unhappy. I guess a few shots were enough to put him over the edge today. Poor guy.
Ben rarely stays where I put him these days so Madison has been happy to claim the monkey pillow for herself. I hate to tell her it will soon be leaving the kitchen and she’ll be back to the hard floor again. Some day I’ll find a place for a pillow for her again.
These guys wanted to make cinnamon sugar donuts for breakfast. Who was I to say no?
Helping Granny and Pop with the fun stuff.
One cool dude.
The boys and I had a plan this morning. They let me get up with Ben and then get him back down for his morning nap. Then they came to see me with a glass of water and Harry Potter. We snuggled in for some serious reading – at least until Ben wakes up again.
Kaitlyn is enjoying some one-on-one time with Aunt Emmy.
Someone woke up when he was already supposed to be asleep for the night, but we let it slide. Dad has been out of town for a few days and hasn’t seen that cute face.
I’ve been slow about actually photographing the rooms we swapped and painted during spring break. The bathroom and Kaitlyn’s room just needed paint and were finished that week. Here is her new room all finished – until we remove one closet and shorten another closet to add an upstairs laundry room!
I was pleasantly surprised to watch the big boys and realize they were playing with each other without issue. They had figured out how to ride together on a monster noodle and were having the time of their life.
Kaitlyn looks like she waved her royal scepter (i.e. flag) at breakfast and got chocolate chip pancakes.
Splash pad fun – or rather sitting in a chair and watching the big kids fun.
I have mentioned that our moving was more than a little bit of a mess. We had a lot of damage and a lot of missing boxes. We settled with the moving company and have been working towards repairs on several items. I just received (yes – almost 10 months after the move) two of the repaired items back. This chest was completely refinished and looks much better than it did when I bought it (a win for me) and this tea service. The movers managed to break something (a handle, foot, hinge, etc) from every single piece of the tea service. I can only imagine what it cost to fix, but a wonderful silversmith was found (thank goodness we live in the area we do) and I now have a wonderfully restored antique tea service. The sad part is all of this was delivered about the time I have decided to get rid of my dining room. This house has a really odd floor plan and the dining room is in the very front of the house and the kitchen is in the very back of the house. I am one of those old school people that actually uses a dining room for every dinner, but even I found myself not wanting to carry dishes across three rooms every night. Wade and I keep discussing options but we haven’t figured out the perfect solution yet. This house has proven the most challenging in terms of deciding what we want long term for each room. The longer we live here, the more we change our minds!
Alex has decided Dad’s office is the perfect place to read.
Today Raddish Kids and Teague are making sushi for dinner. Yum!
It appears Kaitlyn is having quite a bit of fun with Aunt Emmy and Daddy in Memphis.
This is pretty much what he looks like if he’s not sleeping.
I love when my yard is green and full of blooms.
Swimming lessons for these boys.
Kaitlyn and Wade flew out on a jet plane today for Memphis. Wade is staying for a few days and Kaitlyn is staying for a week. They were both pretty excited!
It’s crazy to think Ben has been with us 6 entire months.
Her first and last day of 3 year preschool. Time is flying.
Alex was happy to join us all outside but was content to just sit and read. (Wonder who he gets that from?)
This boy has been waiting forever to drive the mower. (If only it was a ride-on.)
Last day of preschool! The crazy part is the boys have a month left.
It’s a few days old news – but this guy got his first tooth!
Kaitlyn got a dollhouse for Christmas, but it turns out that my old dollhouse furniture and the floor is a lot more entertaining and preferable. If only Santa could predict these things.
The waiting area at taekwondo is starting to get a little crowded.
Well this is a first for us. She fell asleep at the table as we were clearing dishes. I was afraid she was going to fall out of her chair while I was trying to get the picture. (Then I’d feel like a really bad parent – but I’d have a pretty funny picture.)
Teague was happy to entertain Ben for me today. He really liked the idea of reading to him in his bed.
It’s almost the end of May, but Kaitlyn refuses to give up her flannel pajamas or her fuzzy slippers.
Alex needed some pictures of the Common and I loved that he was lining up his shot!
He told me today that when he goes to college he will still mail me cookie dough. Isn’t he the sweetest?
These two cuties had lunch and a playdate today. (Their moms enjoyed the time together too!)
He chews on everything!
