We had a nice lazy day planned. Everyone slowly woke up, we had afternoon plans for a movie. Perfection.
Mornings at Gram’s are very slow and relaxed.
Kaitlyn – Burch Lock Level 12 (or so she says).
It should surprise no one that our first stop of the day was Waffle House!
Kaitlyn brought home the first few books in this series from her school library. I read them to her at night before bed. Then she got impatient and started trying to read them to herself. This past week she realized she really could read them. She is now flying through the books and quite frustrated when both the school library and our town library don’t have the next book in the series. This is the first time Kaitlyn has really read a book on her own so of course I bought her the next book on Amazon and it arrived today.
Because we will be gone on Ben’s birthday, we had our own celebration today.
Everyday after school, Kaitlyn has a yogurt and immediately starts her homework (on her iPad). If only it were that easy with all the kids.
Big changes in the Burch household. These kiddos are each carrying their own swim bags for the first time.
Saturday chore lists.
Lazy Fridays when there is no school.
Sometimes mornings still come a little early.
Kaitlyn had her cheer showcase tonight – a performance for family and friends! Cheer is officially over.
Family movie night – A League of Their Own.
Last minute school morning prep.
Birthday parties are the best.
Evidently you don’t need light to pack your snack for school…
Kaitlyn has found a new chore she enjoys – fluffing the pillows.
Kaitlyn is entering a drawing contest at school and has been working on her drawing every free moment.
Candy trading continues.
(Teague – T-rex, Kaitlyn – Elsa, Ben – light up stickman)
Tonight there was a dance party!
Trunk or Treat at the church.
Cinnamon toast for breakfast please.
Kaitlyn made pretzel bites yesterday and they were immediately gobbled up. Alex requested them again today so Kaitlyn agreed to make them again.
It’s a rare morning that all four of my kids are in the kitchen at the same time.
Kaitlyn cooked dinner for us tonight!
Wade is out of town this week so everybody has to go with me when I go to school early for Fun Run reasons. They didn’t seem to upset…
I tried to be on top of things and take the Sunday picture before church – nobody liked hat idea (even if I did get a few smiles).
Cheer competition today!
Proof that they do get along – sometimes.
Fun Run! She ran 35 laps like a champ.
I am still waiting for the day when she can put on all the soccer gear by herself. So far she can do the shin guards and the cleats. I still have to do the soccer socks and tie the shoes…
These days my two youngest both spend all their iPad time on Minecraft. I remember when that is all Alex and Teague would play too…
Kaitlyn decided to spend the afternoon perfecting her face painting skills.
Party cleanup underway.
Nothing makes me happier than a yard full of kids having fun.
Friday night high school football.
Kaitlyn wanted popcorn and needed a little help with the microwave. Alex decided to give her an important life lesson on how to pop popcorn.
Kaitlyn was desperate to entertain herself while I was finishing up dinner.
The chef tonight prepared lasagna pots. They were eaten but everyone voted not to make them again.
It’s a sleepover so we made a stop to pick up goodies.
This is why it’s really nice to have a “real” photographer take the pictures sometimes.
This poor mannequin is getting quite the makeover.
This is often how Kaitlyn watches TV. Regardless she is never found sitting still while watching.
