It rained. It stormed. Then it stopped.
Month: May 2018
Puddle jumping will always be one of my favorite activities
(Both to do and to photograph.)
Her puddle jumping needs a little work, but I was pretty impressed for a first timer.
We’ve been waiting for him to wake up so we can go puddle jumping!
Alex really wanted a bacon and egg sandwich this morning but I didn’t have time to fix it. He agreed to do all the work and that was fine with me.
I’m often amused at Teague’s ability to make clothes look like an old man is wearing them.
It was a little chilly this morning for a soccer game – especially on the sidelines.
Just waiting to see what his crazy family is going to do next.
Late afternoon car naps have become one of my favorite things. I’ll have this little chatterbox talking a mile a minute until suddenly all is quiet and I realize she has fallen asleep.
My kids spend much more time reading the books in the to-donate-box than they did when the same books were on their bookshelf.
It was an ice cream kind of day.
This one always greets us with a smile.
I don’t think any of my children have ever gotten a funny tan line on their feet. By the time we can wear flip flops and sandals we are in the pool and at the lake enough we are shoe-free most of the day. Kaitlyn, however, has developed the cutest tan line from her “sparkle shoes” this year.
Today he actually tried to argue with me over the right way to clean the bathroom. Then I realized I should be quiet and I was winning as long as he was cleaning.
We got to swim lessons a little early today.
It’s a hard life.
Kaitlyn and her friends are the cutest. We played at the Ecotarium (called the Cafetarium by Kaitlyn because we always eat in the Cafeteria while we are there) in their outside area, inside, back outside, and then we visited the otters.
Wade has been rearranging his shop and found an abandoned nest on his battery chargers. He brought it in to show the kids before he cleans it again for use.
Alex’s new and improved method of unloading the dishwasher.
Teague is my dreamer which also means he is my slow child. I often find him standing in the shower, hair completely hair, staring into space. I have no idea how he’s going to be ready for school a full hour earlier for his new school next year.
Bedtime books with Daddy.
We are getting air conditioning installed in our house this week! It also means Ben is napping in various rooms due to constant noise and workmen. Today’s nap happened in the middle of the living room floor but he didn’t seem to mind.
I finally have a baby that is fascinated with his own feet – it only took four!
My kids love Grafton rocks and decided to paint some of their own, except for Alex who decided to paint a Pokemon figure.

I had so much fun taking pictures with Ben last time that we did it again.
(I wanted a picture of him playing with his feet, but that grin gets me every time.)
Ugh. This boy can find the mud anywhere.
Chalk fun for these two!
I turned around for just a second and this guy grabbed the cord for the iron. Thankfully Wade was in the room and yelled out a warning. Ben is definitely going to keep me on my toes.
(I’m going to point out when I turned around he was quite a distance from the cord. This boy moves FAST.)
Someone cut her summer hair cut today. (And now we both need a shower.)
All the teachers in my childrens’ lives helped to make a wonderful Mother’s Day. I was showered with flowers from preschool, elementary school, and Sunday school!
Happy Mother’s Day!
We had a typical crazy day full of soccer games and then a school festival. The kids were excited to run wild with their friends while playing games and eating goodies. Teague participated in the Taekwondo demonstration and seemed quite comfortable in front of a crowd.
A reader. Always.
Teague was pretty excited to be part of the Taekwondo demonstration at his school fair today.
Thankfully the fall missed her eye, but she may just end up with a black eye for a few days.
These two had a really early morning, but by the time I got up and checked on them they seemed to have worked everything out.
This is what happens when your nails grow faster than mom can keep them cut and you constantly try to grab your feet.
All of my children are convinced watermelon tastes best when eaten with their own personal melon baller. The problem is I only have one baller. (This would be a great stocking gift except I am never thinking about melon ballers when snow is falling.)
This dog walker extraordinaire is still convinced it’s freezing outside every morning.
Kaitlyn was so agreeable to sitting for a picture today.
Napper.
Saturday is a big Spring Festival at Teague’s School. With my current kid situation it is a little difficult to volunteer time, but I could easily donate a cake for the cake walk. I was told the more colorful the better. The kids helped me pick a tie-dyed cake with confetti sprinkles for the icing. It was a lot of fun to make (and a spoiler for Saturday but it turns out the students picked a winner and I got $25 to Amazon).
I love coming across artwork in unexpected places by a very obvious artist.
These toys were in an Arby’s kids meals long ago and now live in my purse. They have provided countless hours of entertainment at restaurants and sports practices the last two years.
This is going to be preserved as one of the most awkward and weird photos I have taken…
Maybe it wouldn’t be odd if there were two other people in the picture?
Ben is the best baby. He naps on the go like a champ and is happy under pretty much any circumstance. Today he napped all day in his stroller while Kaitlyn and I played at Old Sturbridge Village.
Ben and I had a little free time this morning and took some pictures.
Poor Alex ended up at the bottom of this pile. He was an amazingly good sport about the entire thing and took some pretty good knocks.
