Everyone’s favorite time of day – iPad time!
Because our babysitters are out of town, we decided to go out to dinner with the little ones in tow.
I was painting all day and Wade was in charge of the kids. He was super Dad and pulled out the waterslide to keep them entertained.
Evidently Kaitlyn was the big winner at the ending games today at Gymnastics camp and came home with an alligator pool float.
It’s a Thursday.
Big things happening at our house this morning – one of our biggest trees had to be cut. It was sick and we were worried it would eventually fall. The kids ate breakfast outside watching the workers.
Kaitlyn’s request for summer was a gymnastics class. This week she is doing half-days gymnastics camp all week.
Kaitlyn doesn’t often make her own lunch – but she will take charge when it comes to a pb&j.
These two played hide-n-seek in this box all afternoon.
Summer day chaos.
Just rambling around outside today.
It’s rather difficult to get a natural smile these days.
Today we started our drive for home – 12.5 hours planned for the first day.
It appears the cousins have officially outgrown the porch swing.
Something about this picture makes them look much closer in age but I’m not sure if he looks older or she looks younger – maybe both?
Friends are here!
Another pool day. More jumping.
We tried an early picnic lunch. It was manageable, but still pretty toasty!
Kaitlyn realized what Ben had done and immediately worked up the courage to jump off the high dive too. Of course she loved it and spent the rest of the day in the deep end jumping.
Bingo – round two
This was Kaitlyn’s first year swimming in the deep end without a float. She was awesome.
Working hard on birthday thank you notes.
Bedtime calendar checking.
My kids normally get to plan out their birthday day. Kaitlyn had a little bit of a different birthday since we were on vacation. She had been quite bummed when she first learned we would be celebrating her birthday while at the Cape so we made it all better with a promised trip to Chuck E. Cheese.
(Note that Ben is holding strong with the mismatched shoes.)
Today was catch-up day around the house – groceries, laundry, etc. When I got to the ironing, I offered to let the kids join me while I watched a movie. We watched the new movie, “Sea Beast” on Netflix and we were all entertained.
We measured Kaitlyn today on our growth chart. We were all amused that she did managed to eek above Teague’s 6 year mark, but not quite either of the boys’ 7 year marks. The current bet is she might be the shortest one in the long run!
The first time we were at this beach, Kaitlyn lost a diving toy in the sand. It’s now low tide and she is desperately searching for it.
This is when we were still hopeful the sun would appear.
Ninja Warrior on the beach.
Hiking in Cape Cod.
We have immediately fallen in love with Cape Cod.
Kaitlyn was so excited to empty out the furniture in her LOL dollhouse and replace it with my old dollhouse furniture she found in the barn.
These two decided to make cinnamon donuts together. Some moments were great. Some moments were a little tense.
Kaitlyn spent the day with a renewed interest in her “All About Me” book. My favorite was when she had to count all the forks in the house.
We’ve been watching Obi-Wan Kenobi and most of us are thoroughly enjoying it.
We attended our first baseball game in ages – maybe since Alex was a newborn.
The first group hike of summer. And the first snack of 5,439.
Everybody loves when Daddy pulls out funny videos at dinnertime.
Even without school, mornings can be rough.
Elsa has arrived!
Happy Father’s Day!
