Kaitlyn couldn’t wait to perform a song before cheer practice tonight.
Month: September 2022
Tonight we practiced hidden talents.
Alex walks to school and has only let me drive him twice. He finally agree to the purchase of a raincoat last year after several days of pouring rain – but only for the sake of his Chromebook. I always get a kick out of the fact that he wears the raincoat to cover his backpack but ends up with his body soaking wet.
Alex isn’t so happy about needing a raincoat in this weather, but he is determined to protect his electronics.
Kaitlyn and Teague decided to cook donuts for breakfast. Ben was offering his help but nobody took him up on it.
It seemed like the perfect weekend for an outdoor movie night. Alex had some friends over and Teague joined in the fun. The little kids were a little jealous. Wade and I gave them the choice of a movie night with us or some iPad time. You can see which one they picked.
Sunday roundup.
Kaitlyn had a busy morning. She had cheer practice at 8 and then a game to cheer for at 9:30. The good news is she is done for the weekend.
I also thought to take a video of Kaitlyn “flying.”
Wade asked Alex to help clean up the yard for mowing. Although it’s funny to see Alex in the jeep, the jeep doesn’t always handle excess weight well. Wade has had to replace the motors before when adults have ridden in it before. Fingers crossed that Alex didn’t do any damaged. He knows better! (I told him I was taking a picture because he knew better and shouldn’t be riding it. He of course didn’t listen to me.)
Late afternoon naps for everyone!
Kaitlyn cooked dinner tonight but was not excited about the process for the green beans. She does not like getting her hands dirty.
Ben has become Wade’s little buddy and they often run errands together on Saturdays.
After three days of school, the kids have off both Friday and Monday. Since Wade doesn’t get back in town till late tonight, I told the kids we were spending the day hiking but I’d treat them to ice cream afterwards. This has been planned all week, and all seemed agreeable. Alex had some hesitation this morning, but quickly turned it around. We actually all had a lot of fun.
Alex stepped up and cooked dinner tonight – Stuffed crust pizza.
These two decided to cook breakfast on their day off.
Soccer practice started tonight. The girls’ coach has four medals that he uses to motivate the girls. He hands them out at the end of each practice and they have to be returned at the next game. Kaitlyn got the unicorn medal for showing the most improvement.
Morning on the couch.
Sometimes the boys actually have a little fun with unloading the dishwasher.
Movie night.
Movie night.
Movie night made more special by a parenting first – Ben but not one, but two popcorn kernels up his nose. Who knew age four was going to be so much more challenging than age two?
