Teague has always been able to get a laugh out of Kailtyn. (He in fact got her very first giggle.) I can’t remember when they first started playing this game, but they both love it. Kaitlyn came be in full tears and this game will still create giggles and smiles.
Month: April 2015
It’s been far too long since we’ve made cheese dip.
(Wade wondered if we could just go ahead and crush up his lactaid pills and add it straight to the cheese dip. Poor Wade.)
Judging by his bed decorating, I am going to guess Teague had no trouble falling asleep for his nap.
Everbody is glad when Daddy gets home!
Soccer. Soccer. Soccer.
Team pictures at soccer tonight!
Teague discovered Kaitlyn will try to catch a laser just like a cat.
Granny does it again – monster jeans.
Teague brought this bus with him from his foster family in Korea (see here a picture in the hotel room in Korea). Today he wanted to show it to Kaitlyn.
Morning nap.
Maybe the most “us” picture we have ever taken.
(If you look closely you will see that Alex has the remote in his hand and gets credit for “taking” the picture.)
We got home from church and everyone was awake and happy. We all somewhat coordinated (except for me so I quickly changed). Wade grabbed the tripod and we stepped out our front door for an impromptu photo shoot. These have to be some of my favorite family pictures – ever. They are silly and funny and everyone was happy. (Now if only this had been Easter – you win some and you lose some).
Alex obviously has the beach on his mind. Why he decided to create one out of the rice box I’m still not sure.
Teague scored two goals in his first soccer game of the season!
Kaitlyn is fascinated with outlets. Thankfully she hasn’t yet thought to attempt putting anything in them.
(It is shocking to me how many more outlets a new house has than an old one. We definitely need to buy more outlet plugs.)
Wade got home from work and we decided to go to the park to enjoy this awesome day!
Sure. Let’s get every play dough item we own out and have fun. No problem.
(See what a cool Mom I am?)
We had a fun filled day and this one fell asleep on the way home from the park.
The boys like to always be prepared. They decided it might be a good idea to go ahead and start on their Christmas lists.
I was so impressed when Teague asked me to spell “Legos” and then proceeded to write it. (Top word in blue). To document this occasion I had him add his name below that in red. (Teague didn’t get an easy name in terms of length or actual writing like Alex, but he’s doing a great job.)
Alex was stalling bedtime by wanting to snuggle with Tabit but it was still cute.
If only I was so good at getting their attention at the same time.
Sometimes we just get out all of the baby toys and see what’s fun.
Crafting.
(He definitely doesn’t get this from me.)
Silly face with ear protection.
It’s a cute picture, right? I got one cute picture out of 24 and we lost a pair of socks in the process.
Books with Dad.
(Teague has woken up every morning for the last week without a shirt so we just decided to start putting him to bed without one.)
Kaitlyn is loving this warm weather and being in the bigger stroller.
Teague loves to help Kaitlyn get her bath. Especially when he gets to dump water on her head (which by the way he would HATE).
Suddenly the boys wanted to build train tracks. I love how toys cycle through again and again.
Teague is serving as a human baby gate for the top of the basement stairs. It was on our list to put the door back up this past weekend, but that didn’t quite happen. Maybe soon…
Having a picture on your butt is only cute for a very short portion of your life. We are enjoying it to its fullest (and also it seems to be on most of the pajamas we inherited and were gifted).
Happy Easter.
Easter morning is always crazy, but this morning was especially crazy. The kids were up and excited to see what the bunny had left!
After letting the kids enjoy their goodies we got everyone ready for church and out the door (no small feat)! Then it was out to an awesome brunch. I was so impressed that it was kid-friendly. There was even a kid-height table with kid-friendly food. It didn’t hurt that the Easter bunny made his way to every table too!
Then we rushed home and attempted a family picture. I knew the sun was bright and everyone was tired, but Wade was flying out in a few hours and I really wanted a picture. These are a sampling of what I got.
Then we went inside to say goodbye to Wade and everyone but Alex took a nap. The sun started to set and I found a shadow in the yard. We went back out for pictures and the boys were bribed with a movie after dinner. Kaitlyn was being fed snacks between each picture. If you look closely you will see that the boys each have a loving hand on her leg. That’s actually to hold her in place. She wanted to crawl to me, but the boys were always able to (somehow!?!) gently hold her down and she would sit for another picture or two before trying it again.
It wouldn’t be a Saturday without Alex inventing – today an Easter egg finding machine.
Sometimes a fun-filled Saturday is too much and you end up in bed, dead asleep, at 6 pm after a gigantic tantrum.
(This is the reason he has returned to naps and should have had one today.)
Kaitlyn the Bunny.
She napped through our Easter egg hunt but we still let her participate in our Easter fun!
The boys had been begging for an Easter Egg Hunt in our backyard. Wade and I spent last night filling Easter eggs and this morning Wade went hiding them. I was hoping Kaitlyn would at least get to watch the fun but her napping got in the way. The boys had a blast and we all enjoyed the afternoon chocolate.
Alex is so excited to play baseball again this spring. (I am not so excited about this but that’s another story.)
He is playing in Weston this time and the team requires even more gear so today we bought a bat and helmet.
If it has a hood, he wears it up.
Two things caused immediate tears today – not being held by Mom and anyone taking away the brush she wanted to use as a teether.
The boys were out of school today so we started the day with pancakes. Kaitlyn was happy to have her own and gobbled it up. Maybe next time I’ll even let her have some syrup.
Then I let the boys in on a surprise. Teague’s market was finally in the basement and ready for playing. They were so excited and entertained all morning! Teague had no interest in being the shopper – only the man behind the counter. Alex was content to shop and pretty soon had pulled out Teague’s Halloween costume and created a parking lot and was towing his groceries (in the cart) home.
I love that the boys love books. I love even more that they will quietly read in their rooms till 7 am in the mornings.
Alex got a little bored having to watch Teague’s soccer practice.
Teague had a great soccer practice tonight. It probably doesn’t hurt that his dad is coaching!
