Although Alex is a typical teenager in that he never wears a coat in winter, he only wears shorts when he is overdue on laundry. I can almost bet he is currently washing every pair of pants he owns.
LittleToadfrogs
This is Kaitlyn’s current favorite place to curl up for her iPad time.
Brothers.
Sunday lineup.
Saturday morning chaos with two cooking breakfast – muffins and waffles.
Dinner making shenanigans. The kids are cooking while Wade and I get ready to go out on a date.
These two decided to have some fun with the morning chores – plumping the couch cushions took much much longer than normal.
Alex was nice enough to agree to make Kaitlyn a peanut butter and jelly for snack today.
Wade got a new toy and the kids loved playing with it all evening.
Video games for all the kiddos.
Video games for all the kiddos.
Alex and his rain coat crack me up. He has worn it twice, maybe three times in the last three years. He always chooses to wear it only on his head and covering his backpack. He only wears it to protect his backpack and mostly the electronics inside.
Teague and his new best friend. It’s kind of cute – for now.
Skip Bo. It’s all giggles till she loses.
The one shoe wonder.
Alex went to the library to hang out with his friends. He came home covered in mud. He looked at me and said “Fishy Fishy is a fun game.” I only know the game from preschool but Alex informed me it is an entirely different game with high schoolers in the mud.
Teague got a phone for his birthday so now we see a lot of this…
Gymnastics days almost always mean a trip to Target too.
ROAR
I had to search him out in his bedroom, but I found Alex today. (I think he has been hiding from us today.)
Dishwasher – the chore that never ends.
Kaitlyn has a huge book project due this month and her first step was to draw a new book cover.
Pirates are still a favorite here!
Kaitlyn spent last night at Great Wolf Lodge with a friend. She came home visibly exhausted. She lasted through the afternoon but crawled up beside me and took the first nap I have seen in a very long time.
Sunday lineup.
Alex is getting another lesson in cooking burgers. He’s determined to be able to do it solo soon.
Tenzi – one of the few games everyone will play together.
This is what happens when you stay up too late the night before.
Games. Games. More games.
Skip Bo is a family favorite.
Pirates and swords!
Alex left the sweetest treat on the kitchen island for his siblings to find this morning.
Teague was so excited to get a plane ticket for a visit to Memphis this summer.
Games with Pop!
Alex was more than willing to help with dinner tonight – thank goodness.
We have another teenager in the house!
Disney!
Ben drew a treasure map!
I love having big kids. They help with the chores you hate the most – like taking the big bags of pet food to the basement.
Teague wanted to celebrate his birthday with a sleepover. The plan was to spend a few hours at Apex in the arcade, have dinner, stop at the Dollar Tree for snacks, and then video games.
Kaitlyn was so excited to return to her room and see that the housekeepers had used her sleep mask as part of the bed decorations.
Ben and I had a one-on-one trip today. I realized he had never been to Build-a-Bear. Meet – Longhorn, dressed in a Black Panther outfit.
Back to feeding his starter.
Kaitlyn can see animals from where she is staying and she loves it!
Deep discussions about Minecraft and toys while I fix dinner.
Alex finally decided to make bread! He followed the directions, got frustrated with the measurements (grams instead of cups), but did a great job. I was gone tonight when the bread was finally finished. I did get a text telling me it was good.
Then I got home from running kids around and was told Alex got a piece, Dad got a piece, and Pepper helped herself to the rest of the bread. (Typical Pepper). Alex did find a small part that Pepper hadn’t been able to reach that I could try. It was yummy but I didn’t get any pictures of the finished bread.
Alex finally decided to try to make bread.
Ben recently read the book, “Treasure Planet” and was so excited to find out there is a movie too. Teague walked through the room and got hooked too.
Kaitlyn and Wade had plans to swim in the pool while they waited for Granny and Pop to arrive, but it turned out that the water was extremely cold. They decided to work out instead.
Ben has discovered a program on his iPad that translates his words to text. He loves to read a book and watch the words translate to his iPad.
