Saturday.
So thankful that everyone in this house still naps!
Teague wakes up with the rosiest cheeks.
Waiting on Mom for bedtime books.
Alex and his art.
Snack sharing.
I’m not sure what part the triscuit played, but the rest of the scene is a reenactment of a scene from a book – Mater gets caught by his tow cable and has to hang upside down. Evidently all the cars now get caught and have to hang upside down too. I find it hilarious that B’s garage is now referred to as “Radiator Springs.”
It was actually my snack in the bowl, but Teague kept helping himself.
I knew it was entirely too quiet when I stepped out of the shower. I found the boys quietly reading books together. Melt my heart.
Alex knew exactly what he wanted to play with after nap today – B’s garage and his “face” cars. We set him up and he entertained himself till dinner.
Teague has never showing much interest in loveys. We leave a few in his crib and he will occasionally give them a hug, but today he wanted to bring one downstairs with him. Shock!
A friend who takes your hungry, attention-seeking child to the other room and entertains them while you cook dinner is worth their weight in gold.
We turned on some music and Teague wanted to play his guitar.
This pretty much sums up playing at home lately. Alex has it and Teague wants it. Alex has learned to play in places Teague can’t reach. Teague is learning to reach/climb/get to things.
Happy Birthday Daddy!
I brought home a pirate from the dentist today. (He even let them take an x-ray.)
After Teague learned his body parts we taught him the equivalent on Mom and Dad. Then it occurred to us to teach him that animals also have the same. Now he loves to point to Madison’s eyes, nose, mouth, ears, etc. She’s normally pretty good about sitting through the lesson.
Self-entertaining.
That tongue…
Everyone’s favorite activity in the evenings is to ride this bike (usually around the kitchen island) as I prepare dinner.
Ever since I went out for a run yesterday, Alex has wanted to “exercise.” Today we all went out to play in the sleet/ice/snow.
Teague had a rough night last night (we think he had a slight fever). He made up for it with today’s long nap – 5 hours.
Alex had a play dough construction site today.
Teague was momentarily intrigued by the play dough but quickly grew bored.
Bubble time.
Bubble time.
Sailing on the open seas.
Alex wanted to teach Teague the “booty bump” method of going down the stairs.
Dad promised to read this Calvin and Hobbes book to as soon as he gets home from work. Alex can’t wait.
Fishin’
Cops and robbers.
I had pulled out my sock drawer to do some sorting when Teague woke up. I forgot about it and got into other things. Teague discovered it and had quite a bit of fun.
Bath time.
Bath time is so fun!
“But Mom, I need a snack right now.” (Not when you finish checking your email.)
All on his own Teague found this truck and it’s coordinating tool and got down to work. He didn’t quite manage to get the tire off, but he’s getting closer.
Alex couldn’t wait to play with Daddy and beat him three times in a row.
Ice cream was the perfect treat for everyone tonight!
Alex and I have played games before, but this is the first “real” board game we have successfully played. (Thanks Granny and Pop.)
Teague’s determined to change that tire.
Undecorating.
Shower envy.
Alex got these diggers for Christmas and I just happened to have a bag of rice (thank you Nicki) ready to make into a sensory box.
Future vet?
Today the mailman and the grandparents are our heroes. We managed to leave both Alex’s clock and Moose at different grandparents’ houses. They all put them in the mail and both boxes arrived today!
Teague saw the big kids playing guitar and wanted a turn too.
This is not a great picture, but it is one of my favorite parts of bedtime. I normally put Teague to bed while Wade puts Alex to bed. Teague always wants to go in Alex’s room and give him a kiss before we go read his book. These are the moments I love.
My shop boys.
The boys still love their baths and cars in the bath are even better.
