Wade’s out of town so Alex and I (and numerous lovies) snuggled in for a movie night.
Alex
Dress up time!
Googly eyes. Like father, like son.
Taking Madison for a walk in the snow.
There’s a traffic jam in front of the parking garage!
(We have had a lot of boxes delivered recently and depending on the size Alex immediately wants a boat or a parking garage.)
We managed a little outside play today with Amber and Abram.
A typical MDO pick-up. Alex is eating a graham cracker with Madison hoping for a dropped bite.
(On a side note – Alex gets tired of snacks very quickly (meaning a few servings). He never wants to finish a bag of goldfish or box of crackers. The exception seems to be graham crackers. I keep a ziploc bag of them in my car and he gets one every day I pick him up from MDO. Of course he doesn’t eat them at home…)
I was in the kitchen making cookies and thought it was too quiet in the living room. I peaked in to see Wade and Alex just like this.
Dr. Drill and Fill
No idea, but he’s cute as a button.
Dressed up in astronaut gear to Skype with Granny and Pop.
Monster Truck Jam. We’re pretty sure Alex just went for the popcorn.
Learning to play Memory.
New brushes for the aquadoodle.
Alex has wanted to blow candles out all evening. We finally lit some for him to blow out right before bedtime.
I am always amused that Alex can have this much snow on him and want to continue playing. I would be shivering and begging to go inside.
Team Alex.
(Alex wanted his football clothes and his football. Then he told me he was “Team Alex” and started throwing.)
Sledding!
(This picture is the only time Alex rode with an adult. He loved his little red sled and would go flying down the hill all by himself.)
Goodnight.
Snow day, take two.
Finally! We have snow!
(As you can see in the picture Alex wasn’t as excited as I was.)
Guess what we had for breakfast?
One of Alex’s favorite morning activities is playing in our bed – preferably with all of his loveys!
We call this Mr. Potato Head for the shower.
Abram and Alex were very interested in Riley’s Birthday presents.
Daddy has the best toys at work.
A little under the weather but determined to play.
Snuggling with Daddy on the couch (and watching Top Gear).
Who knew a bucket could be so fun?
More snow play. Too bad we don’t really have any snow yet.
The snowfall was minimal, but Alex couldn’t wait to shovel.
Alex was content to play trains for most of the day. Wade even built him a new track.
Alex woke up from his nap and immediately spied the chips on the table. I told him they were for our New Year’s Eve party tonight. He promptly sat down at the table to wait (at 3 pm).
Abram was nice enough to loan Alex Toy Story 2 (Jesse is his favorite) tonight.
He spent all dinner telling Wade the pieces of the story he remembered.
Impromptu chip and dip party in the middle of the bathroom floor.
It’s good to be home and back in our routine.
I turned around today to see Alex attempting to get the last crumbs out of the bag.
I’m not sure where he learned this trick, but I’ve seen it a lot lately (see here).
This construction set was by far Santa’s best gift.
(Even the adults found ourselves mesmerized.)
Hungry Hungry Hippos was a huge hit!
Anytime Alex left Gram’s house he requested this hat. He’s in his pajamas and ready for the late night drive to Granny and Pop’s house.
Don’t leave me Uncle Chris!
Dabney brought Alex a new book – about the Moon!
That’s my boy!
(Skeeball at Chuck E. Cheese – going for the 10,000 points)
Now that’s a gingerbread man!
Not so sure about waking up from his nap.
Gingerbread house decorating – Burch style!
“Reading” while Mom makes dinner.
How do you eat your movie theater popcorn?
You’d never know Alex had minor surgery this morning. He woke up from his nap ready to go and insisted on his “Yellow Jacket clothes” and a garage for his cars.
Favorite morning play place? Yesterday’s delivery box!
