Dancing!
Alex
Alex loves to help grocery shop – as long as it as at the grocery with a cart his size.
Waiting for Daddy to come home from work.
We put Alex’s swing up this week and he has already logged hours and hours swinging.
(Here Wade is asking Alex for directions in proper swinging.)
Watching trains with Daddy.
Popsicles are an awesome after-nap snack.
Alex didn’t want to leave all the family fun in the living room to take his bath.
Let’s get this car moving Pop! (photograph courtesy of Judy).
Alex loves to imitate Aunt Emmy (photograph courtesy of Judy).

Aunt Emmy was picked for bedtime stories.
I was folding laundry when Alex decided to try on Wade’s gym shorts. He had both legs in one leg-hole, but otherwise got it right.
Alex had no problem letting Phoenix do all the work.
As we were waiting for Daddy to come home from work, Alex suddenly picked up his lovies and started walking down the sidewalk. I asked him where he was going and he told me “hospital”. We discussed that the lovies needed “fixing” and Alex finally agreed to do the fixing himself.
He’s going to hate me for this one day, right?
It turns out that a two and three year old don’t like to be splashed by each other, but love to dump water on their own heads.
A little impatient for lunch.
Just like Daddy.
Tree huggers.
Alex is fascinated with our next door neighbors (Bo and Damian). He always wants me to lift him up to the fence and see if “Damy” or their dog is outside. He recently discovered he can look for himself through the crack in the gate and I often find him checking on them.
Cookie dough for breakfast!
(Of my favorite five pictures from today, Wade chose this one.)
Hoyt Park Pool – where we plan to spend most of the summer.
(Alex, Abram, Riley)
It turns out car wrecks are actually a lot of fun!
Definite bookworm!
Alex was not happy about having to stop playing with Pop to get ready for church.
Splash parks are fun!
Who doesn’t love milk out of a Mason jar?
The big discovery for today was Daddy’s old tree house!
Granny and Pop have the perfect climbing tree for a 2 year old.
Swinging.
Buddy is so funny!
First day in the pool!
Wade always gets Alex ready for bed and I normally hear lots and lots of giggles.
(Yes it’s another shower picture. It’s our new favorite activity.)
I was making beds and cleaning the upstairs when I thought I heard Alex say “makeup” several times. I went in to check on him and found that he had indeed put fingerpaint on his face.
Alex is embracing the warmer weather with yard work.
We were playing with Alex’s blocks this morning when he decided the box looked more interesting.
Finger painting in the shower is still a favorite.
According to Alex we had fires all over the house this morning. Thank goodness Fireman Alex was there!
We’ve had crazy high winds all weekend. This huge branch fell during Alex’s nap and provided lots of entertainment after he woke up.
Alex “helps” while Wade puts together my new adirondack chairs!
Today was rather chilly but Alex demanded “shoes off” to play in the sand.
Alex requested the plate with his breakfast. I thought he was taking it to the coffee table. Instead I found him having a picnic in the bathroom.
What do you do at your house for fun?
Best friends.
Alex had lunch at Daddy’s work today.
Conversation in the car.
Me: “Where does Daddy work?”
Alex: “Toolbox”
Unprompted, Alex added, “Daddy hammen” (hammering)
The roller coaster is back! (see last spring).
Donuts for breakfast! Thanks Strouds!
Alex was annoyed that his rake had leaves that refused to come off.
Best buddies.
Just hanging out at the park.
