Checking things out.
Teague
“Monkey my baby”
My little painting pirate – who did not want his picture taken.
One boy towing another boy in a box. Just a typical day at the Burch house.
Library day.
Teague spent the entire ride home examining his new scrape.
Teague’s reaction to a thunderstorm.
(A really bad one – we lost power for about 5 hours.)
I love to find my kids enthralled with their books.
We got a new (bigger) pool today. It was the best afternoon!
“I no like thunder. I go hide in my room.”
We are logging lots of lego hours these days.
Broken AC at home means we spent a few hours in the nice, cool library.
Children watching TV. (i.e. making it easy for the neighbor while Mom and Dad make quick trip to the hospital to get checked out – no baby yet)
Skyping with friends in Milwaukee.
I was rather impressed with this lego fort Teague created all by himself.
Teague learned to put on his underwear by himself by looking for the “words” on a tag. He also loves to tell me, “I no find words.”
Teague’s preferred way to play goalie. (He might need a little work on what he is supposed to be doing in this position.)
Hanging out on a pirate ship.
New library books help pass the time at the DMV. (Thankfully small town living means the wait was only 10 minutes.)
Teague pretty much kept himself entertained today…
I have no idea what their thinking was, but I found the boys like this and couldn’t stop laughing.
Let’s call it like it is. Mom and Dad were about to leave for a date night and Mom realized no pictures had been taken all day.
Every morning these guys show up on my stools looking for breakfast.
Swimming lessons at the Y.
Gas stop.
One of my top priorities after getting to our new house was getting a library card. The local library is tiny but heavily focused on kids (and has a book loan program with a bigger library). Through the kids’ summer reading program, the boys can earn a book to keep for every 24 books they are read. Today they both got to pick out their first book to keep. They both chose their own books with no help from Mom. (This is to explain Teague’s choice which has Islamic subject matter but more importantly a red car on the cover.)
Teague seemed quite content to have Alex gone at school all day.
About 15 minutes after I put him down for his nap, Teague appeared in the garage excited that his nap was over and he could help paint.
(I finally got him back in bed and he slept a few hours before joining us again.)
Backyard fun.
Can you guess what we had for breakfast?
Trying to stay cool.
TROUBLE
I walked in to our bathroom to find all the boys testing out the bathtub.
Walking home from a neighbor’s pool party.
The boys have loved their nightly job of “cleaning” random items in the shower – lego squares, plastic bins, storage containers, etc.
Daddy has the funniest games.
Still loving the water balloons.
Teague waiting for surgery.
It’s a water balloon kind of morning.
It’s all about the boxes!
The boys have both been carrying loose change around the last few days. I knew Teague had a penny, but I didn’t realize he had it with him when he went down for his nap. He woke up with it stuck to his cheek and never even realized it. The penny stayed in place a good 30 minutes to an hour!
The boys asked to wash my car this afternoon and I quickly agreed. (It couldn’t look any worse!) They spent over two hours playing in the water and the rest of us got a ton of unpacking done!
Teague is so happy to have “red car.”
Snuggles and books with Granny.
A gorgeous day at the park!

The boys always love a trip to the library but this library had computers too!

Happy Mother’s Day.
Now this is what I like to see in my backseat during a long drive.
