The boys wanted to help me put Kaitlyn down for her morning nap instead of get dressed for school.
(That worked out really well…)
Kaitlyn
She was quite insistent on which animals Teague should feed next.
Doesn’t everyone carry around a bag of broccoli like a purse?
Poor Alex. This is what it looks like every night as he tries to get homework done.
I heard a persistent ding coming from the boys’ computer. I rounded the corner to find Kaitlyn happily playing where she shouldn’t have been.
She’s got a slight fascination with shoes right now.
Sometimes my favorite picture is the one where no one is looking at the camera.
Mom, I know you left this box at the back door. But it is obviously shoes and we must open it. NOW!
A Kaitlyn Tantrum.
(Don’t tell her, but they are kind of cute. She gets upset and lays down on the floor. She whimpers a little and then forgets about it and either continues to lay on the floor or gets up and goes to play.)
15 month checkup
(With a new doctor, who we love!)
Weight – 21 lbs., 3.8 oz (50%)
Height – 30.75 inches (60%)
Head circumference – 44.6 cm (25%)
It was an epic playdate.
She loves to stack.
It was just a video game kind of night.
Here’s how this goes. Kaitlyn sees that Teague has something. She wants it. He of course will give anything to anyone, but especially to his sister. It’s a grape and he knows she can’t have a whole one. Without a word from me, he will take a bite and give her half a grape (as he has seen me do). She will put it in her mouth for a second and throw it on the floor. Then she will ask for another one and the entire thing will repeat.
She loves “her” cabinet. I struggle constantly with not putting a lock on it and saving myself the constant cleanup.
Poor Kaitlyn. It appears her new shoes need a little breaking in with socks before we go sockless again.
(Not mother-of-the-year, again.)
“Don’t worry Mom. She loves it.”
(And since she kept getting off the couch and running back to him, he was probably right.)
Dress with flounce, bow in hair, and dirt on fingers. She’s definitely our daughter!
Kaitlyn has discovered slides – and Teague loves to go down holding her hand.
Headstands.
How we spent the morning.
Little Ms. Independent figured out if she sits down on the scooter she can make it go. And she’s off.
This silliness is how we pass the time in the mornings till the bus comes.
These two have the sweetest relationship.
(I am just thankful my camera was sitting on the kitchen counter this morning.)
She’s trying to take selfies already…
I love how she happily snuggles in for bed.
Saturday morning laziness.
Kaitlyn’s current favorite book is Tenny Weeny Looks For His Mommy. Gram didn’t mind reading it before morning nap.
Kaitlyn is always a surprise. She rarely goes to other people willingly, but doesn’t cry if you hand her to them. This morning my mom reached for her and she happily let Gram pick her up and then proceeded to snuggle! She knows her Gram.
Sometimes one drink just isn’t enough.
She’ll try to feed her baby about two seconds and then give it to me to complete.
She wanted to ride but can’t reach the pedals. Teague figured out a solution.
Three man band.
(Too bad Daddy’s trying to nap.)
Saturday.
A smile for almost every minute.
Kaitlyn and I have quite the morning routine. We take a shower together and then I run a little bathwater and she plays while I get ready.
(It’s like a water playpen and she loves it.)
Busted.
She’s a pretty good sport about all the interrupted naps.
We moved the party to Milwaukee and Hoyt Pool!
Milwaukee friends come to Barrington!
Our own private beach today.
He drove her around all morning. She was in heaven. (He was too.)
We think she likes it!
Coordinated shoes.
She finally wants to hold my hand while we walk.
Peek-a-boo.
She likes chili!!
Daddy just thought he could take a nap on the floor.
Kaitlyn thought about giving Reggie a pat.
She’s up to something. I’m just not sure what.
