Just a boy playing in a drawer.
Month: April 2020
We eat a lot of rice in our house. I buy a large bag of Jasmine rice at our warehouse store and then transfer it to a large storage container that I keep in the bottom of my pantry. Of course I ran out when supplies are still a little tricky to get. I bought the only type of Jasmine rice I could find in a large bag (not the bag I normally buy). I left it near the pantry door for a few days because I am lazy.
Kaitlyn came up to me rather shyly today and asked me if we were getting a new pet. I was really confused and told her no, but asked her why she thought that. She walked me over to the bag of rice and pointed to it. She thought we were getting a baby elephant…
These two, just going for a walk.
Teague decided to egg on the craziness going on with the two littles.
Just some sillies hanging out in the kitchen.
Alex is rather enjoying the ability to get his schoolwork done in record time.
Just another tractor ride through the yard.
Spring cleaning.
Spring cleaning.
These two love to get out all the baking supplies and canned goods and pretend to “cook.”
I walked by the laundry room to see my rain boots in the washing machine. I have a sneaky suspicion I know who is to blame…
We tease Alex about going outside and getting exercise so he humors us and ventures out to shoot some hoops on a regular basis.
Descendants (1, 2, and 3) are on repeat lately.
Ben seemed determined to make unloading the dishwasher as difficult as possible.
Happy Easter!
This has to be the strangest Easter ever. Some parts were exactly like normal and some parts were definitely not! We got up and the kids looked through their Easter baskets at a leisurely pace.
We watched church online – just like we have been doing for the last several weeks. I did make everyone dress up for a picture with the Easter clothes I had bought for this special day. (Who would have guessed when I purchased the boys’ shirts and Kaitlyn’s dress that we would be quarantining at home?)
We had our traditional Easter lunch and then had an Easter egg hunt in the yard.
We couldn’t convince Alex to join us this year, but everyone else had fun dyeing Easter eggs. We even found some glitter to add to our eggs. This may have been one of the first years I felt I could take a step back a little and not worry about too much mess!
Because birthday parties are out, birthday car parades are the new thing. We all lined up around the block and then drove by the birthday boy’s house to honk, yell, and wish him a happy birthday as he stood in the yard and waved.
Ben is loving all the plastic Easter eggs we brought in while we get ready for Easter.
Alex entertained Ben on one of his breaks while I was trying to help Teague.
Teague figured out today that he could at least start his schoolwork in his pajamas.
Kaitlyn’s online schedule has a lot of “breaks” and she spent most of them in her room with all her toys.
Ben was entertained today courtesy of the sticker box.
Kaitlyn has obviously been back to cutting hair – thankfully not her own. I’m not sure where she found the scissors or what exactly to do about the cutting. Time for some brainstorming.
These two never leave a box unadorned.
Alex choice in pajamas cracks me up.
Today was a little on the chilly side, but these kiddos were excited for a ride behind the tractor.
Bringing a little sparkle to breakfast today.
We have reached the stage of quarantine where Kaitlyn is not only dressing herself but also Ben. The best part is that they are both wearing Ben’s clothes. That’s right my daughter is actually in a 2T vest and 24 month jeans. She’s so excited to have discovered an entire new closet she can use.
It has proven impossible to have multiple kids “doing” school in the same room. I have Kaitlyn in my office, Teague in the kitchen, and Alex in his room. Most of my time is spent keeping Kaitlyn on schedule and Ben out of the way.
Ben was trying to sneak into Teague’s online schooling.
Part of Kaitlyn’s online agenda includes a GoNoodle/Yoga movement break.
I am so thankful that the weather is warm enough to spend time outside. The kids were definitely bored with inside activities and being outside is good for everybody. The kids created all kinds of games and were a new kind of tired at the end of the day.
On a mission!
Just swinging around.
Ready, Set, Go
We spent a lot of time outside today. First the kids created obstacle courses for each other and then the little kids wanted to help Wade fix the lawnmower. He was pretty tolerant of all the extra “help” he had.
A little fun outside today.
A little fun outside today.
Sometimes things don’t go exactly the way you plan….
A little fun outside today.
The sweetest bookworm.
This little one loves helping Dad.
I’m not sure if these two were wrestling, hugging, or just being silly, but it was fun to watch.
Alex has spent a lot of his free time drawing and was more than happy to show off his work.
This is always a favorite outdoor activity.
Today’s favorite play place was the laundry room.

Wade came home from a grocery run with tulips. What a perfect way to brighten my day!
