All of my kids have loved the shower. Ben is no exception and can’t wait for his turn in the shower.
Month: March 2020
Snow in March isn’t unheard of, but it seems only fitting to have it this particular year.
Crafting to alleviate boredom – I don’t blame him at all.
Burgers for dinner!
This boy loves the water.
Dress up and Alexa watching.
The boys just hanging out together watching a little TV.
Today was a dress up day.
A first for us – watching church from our living room with half of us in our pjs.
The kids had so much fun jumping off the kitchen bench today. I love watching them have fun with games they create.
These two were so cute and content to play games on the kitchen table all afternoon. Perfect for a chilly afternoon.
We got crafty today and made slime!

Wade got a big box today. The kids couldn’t wait to see what was inside because of the rattles it made. They were so surprised to find boxes of macaroni and cheese! Wade was happy to see bottles of bourbon.
Wade started a new job very recently and it has been stressful for him to learn everything about a new job/new company while figuring out working from home with the rest of the world. We are thankful he has a home office!
The kids are definitely bored of being home with nothing to do. They are missing their friends and their normal activities. The colder weather makes it a little unpleasant to be outside, but we are trying. Here’s hoping a routine with school will come soon.
Here’s a snapshot of what our Friday contained…
The real question here is who is helping who?
Pepper is very easy to rile up. Then she makes laps through the house. I often threaten the kids they will have to go outside and take the dog if they rile her up and especially if they don’t stop. Teague decided not to stop running through the house with her this morning so they both ended up outside for a little while.
Wade got a special delivery today and the kids loved helping him unbox.
Favorite reading corner.
Teague loves to ride his bike – in any weather.
Kaitlyn was trying hard to ride her bike all day, but finally decided to head to the barn. Teague was kind enough to push her along the way.
Ben just wants to be a big kid.
Our local grocery store has a special employee. There is a robot named Marty that roams the aisles looking for spills or messes that need cleaning. Ben loves Marty and spends our entire trip to the grocery store looking for Marty.
Charades are the game of choice tonight!
Charades are the game of choice tonight!
Aunt Louise mailed charade cards and Kaitlyn has been begging to play.
The cutest blue bear you ever did see.
I have one child that truly hates chores. Even the mention of them makes him grumpy. The dishwasher has caused years of grief and lately he has been showing his displeasure by forcefully unloading the dishes. I warned him that might result in breaking dishes. Tonight it finally happened. I went to throw away some trash and found three bowls in the top of the trash. I questioned all the kids and it was very obvious, very quickly what had happened.
Napper.
Bookworm or homework avoider?
I love this particular look on Kaitlyn.
Mr. Personality
Kaitlyn thoroughly enjoys our neighbors at the bus stop every morning. The current favorites are “I Spy” and occasionally a toy or book.
Ben loves this roller coaster – going in circles, the wheels, and also just lazing around. His favorite pose is feet up with his arms behind his head.
Teague loves chatting the day away with grandparents.
A little evening craziness.
Kaitlyn rarely agrees to posed photos but she was excited to have her picture taken in the witch costume. I couldn’t believe she wanted to actually pose for pictures! That being said, I knew the exact minute she was done.
Lazy Sunday.
Dress up day. The witch costume for the win!
Ben was extremely upset that he didn’t get to write his own Thank You notes.
One of my favorite types of movies and tv shows to watch is zombie themed. Normally I wait till the kids are in bed, but every once in a while, I get sucked into a tv show and want to finish an episode or season. I watch it during the kids’ iPad time/naptime with the volume on low. The kids know what I am doing and that they aren’t allowed to see these types of shows. On the rare instance I have a few minutes left in an episode, I just ask them to stay out of the room till it is over. Kaitlyn cracked me up today. She wanted to walk through the room but knew she wasn’t supposed to see my show – she took me very literally.
When you have a friend one street over, you see if walkie-talkies will work. (They did – barely.)
This is the last of that pesky homework from our travel week. I can’t wait for it to be done. It’s been hard on all of us. (And more than a little unreasonable I think.)
All of my kids are excited to get surprise iPad time.
Ben was so excited to be playing in Kaitlyn’s room today.
We had take out for dinner (much easier than taking our crew to a restaurant) and Wade provided the entertainment.
Sometimes we get a little silly at dinner.
Kaitlyn was so excited for today. She got to wear her PJs to school and bring one of her favorite books. It turns out Kindergarten is a lot of fun!
