Learning As We Grow

This is our first year to grow carrots. We had no idea what to expect. The kids have been ready to eat carrots since we planted them in June. Every once in a while we would pick one to see if they were “ready.” They were always still very tiny. It’s now September and the ones we pick seem to vary greatly in size. I have been a very responsible gardener and done much research (read this as none) so we decided to go ahead and pick carrots today. Kaitlyn was very interested until she realized they would be dirty when they came out of the ground. This girl is so funny with her quirks. She jumps in mud puddles with the best of them, but then immediately wants a new dress.
