It Worked. It Really Worked

The doctors had told us the goal of Teague’s eye surgery was to bring his chin position down. I had a hard time believing this was possible considering how low his eyelids droop. I did think I noticed a slight improvement after his surgery but I had my doubts. Until I saw this picture of Teague at school.

His head is in a normal position, he is looking at the camera, and his mouth is closed. Those three things were pretty much impossible to achieve at the same time before. We would often have Teague look at the photographer’s shoes or something else on the ground so that you could actually see his face. The picture below is a very typical Teague picture (before surgery) if no instructions were given.
