And now Teague is not only carrying around a car all day, but cars in a car.
Month: December 2012
Sharing cookie dough.
Today was the last Tour Club of the semester – the bowling alley. I’m not sure why I have never taken Alex before. He loved it! With the ramp and the bumpers, he even bowled a decent game – 61 points. We took Teague’s car and a snack. He was content to watch all the action.
Alex is convinced serious work requires a writing utensil behind the ear.
The love of cars continues.
Don’t tell the boys, but they are going to bed 30 minutes early tonight.
Wade is out of town and Mom needs a little break.
Wade is out of town so we decided to have a movie night.
Teague was much more interested in Madison than our movie.
This morning Wade’s company had their annual Christmas breakfast. Alex was very excited to see Santa. Teague was excited there was food for a second breakfast. We weren’t sure what Teague would think about Santa, but he let Wade put him on his lap and didn’t cry. A smile might have been too much to ask.
At my feet while cooking dinner.
Teague has been fascinated with this plug-in light all season. It rotates 360 degrees, is a snowglobe, and has an on/off switch – perfect for Teague.
Teague and I were playing upstairs tonight while Wade and Alex worked in the shop. I suddenly heard Wade yell to grab my camera and come downstairs. He had decided to let Alex drill his first hole -into some high density foam. Alex couldn’t wait to show us how it was done (he even knew to keep the button pushed so that the drill was running when he backed the bit out of the hole). I was most impressed that he had also requested the hand broom so he could keep his area clean.
One of Alex’s favorite games to play with Wade is hide-n-seek. He understands counting, but doesn’t understand being quiet while he’s hiding. He also likes to yell “ready” in repose to “ready or not here I come”. This was his favorite hiding spot last night. Very tricky…
Teague is normally happy, but when he does get upset he can immediately turn on the tears. They often start before he even lets out a sound.
This is the first year we have had an Advent Calendar and Alex loves it. We are using the night before to teach Alex the number for the next day. Then he wakes up and can’t wait to find the new number (and the toy underneath). I’d like to thank Target and their wonderful after Christmas sales for this year’s advent calendar!
Alex put on my boots and then wanted to stand on his head. Silly boy.
Teague loves to play in the pantry.
Alex’s current sleeping arrangement.
My boys.
Not only did Alex get to go to another Lego build, he got to have dinner out with Daddy.
Teague loves to get into the pantry. His favorite part is dumping out my drink packets or just carrying them around the house.
We have noticed that Teague has very well defined thigh muscles. Then we noticed that he squats – a lot. He never actually sits down in the bathtub, but squats for the entire bath. He often plays that way and today I realized he was doing it in the shower too. I have no idea if it is cultural or just Teague, but it’s kind of cute.
Finger painting – in the shower – again.
Finger painting – in the shower – again.
Alex says hooded instead of hidden. If I use the word “hidden” then he will correct me.
We had just put the boys to bed when it started pouring rain. Alex yelled from his bed, “It’s an avalanche!”
Anytime Teague cries Alex will sing “Jesus Loves Me” to him. It works about 75% of the time.
Alex got down from his bed and walked into our room at 4 am. He then told us his pillow had fallen on the floor.
Thanks for the shirts Adam and Lyz!
Let the season of Christmas pajamas officially begin.
