As I was getting us ready for the pool, Alex found some cords in Wade’s closet and started playing “doctor.” (Below is his version of a stethoscope.) The funny part is I have never seen him do this before and I had not told him we were actually going to the doctor later this afternoon. It turned out to be a great way to prepare him for it.
Alex kept trying to call the doctor (Dr. Esser) by his dentist’s name (Dr. Rick). I was trying to explain the difference in a doctor and a dentist and Alex still came away with, “Dr. Esser will wash my hair.” (Just like when we talked about going to the dentist.)
