Now everybody has house shoes.
LittleToadfrogs
Brothers.
Wade let me sleep in this morning and I woke up to this in the living room.
Too stereotypical?
(The chopsticks came with Teague from his foster mother and we were told he knew how to use them.)
The minute I mentioned a Halloween Party, Alex requested to bob for apples. (Every Halloween book we have seems to feature the activity and he’s sure a party isn’t complete without it.)
Teague was great at the pumpkin carving party. He wanted to be held but didn’t seem to care who was holding him.
Alex got a mustache at Daddy’s work today and couldn’t wait to try it out.
I am not really a pasta person (especially spaghetti and messy pastas). I made spaghetti casserole and Teague loved it. He ate it single strand by single strand. Then he finished up Alex’s plate too.
Bedtime!
Bedtime. (All “woof woofs” are in bed and accounted for.)
Riding the train at the zoo – happiness!
Best shirt – ever!
(Thanks Nicki and Amber)
Staring contest with the time out timer.
Teague had his first visit with our pediatrician today. At 20 months he is 35.5 inches tall (98%) and 29 lb and 7.5 oz (around 80%).
(The doctor said if he stays on this growth curve he would end up about 6’3″)
Alex’s house shoes have finally arrived!!
(He’s been asking daily for weeks.)
Teague learned to give kisses today.
Alex asked if he could play with the pots and pans like Teague. I replied sure. Pretty soon Alex was making me “hot porridge”.
Teague loves cars, but real cars. He gets much more excited about a car driving down the street than a toy car. He also prefers this book, which pictures real cars, to cartoon-type pictures.
My sons definitely love Mexican food as much as I do.
My sons definitely love Mexican food as much as I do.
We made a trip to the museum with a pirate ship.
We made a trip to the Delafield Play Gallery. Teague and Glenna were at least a little aware of each other.
Some things never change. (See here for Alex doing the same thing two years ago.)
It was a rainy day so we used the new blanket from Aunt Lissy as a cape!
Brothers sharing a banana.
Teague learned to play peek-a-boo today (or rather to respond to the English words).
I love to listen to Alex play.
These cars were fighting and the good guys were hiding under the chair.
Teague is starting to copy Alex (and Alex copies Teague too).
Today Alex got all of us a soccer ball – sized according to our height.
Alex was excited to spend another night at the hotel with Granny and Pop.
(I was informed that last night I forgot toys, bath toys, and socks.)
Teague is definitely a thumb sucker – but only when he is tired.
Alex has been asking for “Yo Mommy” so we went tonight after dinner.
(There were only three other groups in there and we knew two of them. The third we met because they also had a some named Teague, but spelled Teig.)
Don’t tell Alex, but we spent the evening cuddling on the couch and watching tv.
(Alex is spending the night with Granny and Pop in the hotel.)
Alex and Pop playing in the rain.
Wade got this bike out of the attic for Teague. He hopped on and started making circles around the house.
Alex convinced Pop to help him with some coloring.
Teague loves music and today discovered the guitars.
Granny and Pop arrived today!
One of the items in Teague’s last care package was a recordable book from Hallmark. Wade and I recorded ourselves reading alternative pages. It was the only item from the care packages that Teague’s foster mother returned. It is also currently both Teague and Alex’s favorite book.
Part of the bedtime routine.
Bear with me. I’m sure I’ll get tired of these shots eventually.
Alex recently realized there were new games on my iPad (bought for Teague and the long flight home). He’s been begging to play for days and I finally gave in.
Teague will eat anything, but refuses to drink milk. His foster mother told us he still got three bottles of formula a day. I’m experimenting to see how I can transition him to milk in a sippy cup. My latest attempt is all milk with a single scoop of formula (opposed to 5.5) in a bottle. We got to the doctor on Friday and I’m hoping for more suggestions.
Alex was determined to pick our pumpkins and pull them in the cart.
(Which was a huge help because I was pushing the stroller.)
Teague is still a little unsure of the leaf piles I keep putting him in.
How nice to run into a friend from church at the park!
Teague created his own “seat” for the football game.
B had the best toys!
(I was cleaning the basement out a few weeks ago and found this service station that belonged to my Dad as a little boy. My Meme was great about saving his toys and I have quite a few of them.)
I have the feeling we will be seeing a lot more of this. Teague absolutely loves the animals. (I caught him in the same pose with Tabit earlier in the day.)
It’s universal. All little boys love garbage trucks.
Alex wanted to be in charge of pushing Teague’s stroller on our walk tonight.
