Alex wasn’t interested in having his picture taken today..
LittleToadfrogs
Teague wanted “meow” and even managed to snuggle with her for a few minutes.
As an explanation for why he was choosing the rabbit setting on his lawn mower, Alex told me, “I’m going to put it in rabbit because we don’t see any turtles in our yard.”
It turns out Teague doesn’t wake up from anesthesia very well. Thankfully Mom, Mumby, and a car eventually calmed him down.
Monkey.
This boy would live in his car if it were possible.
Both kids thought washing my car was the best idea I’d had in a long time. Who would have guessed?
That is pure joy at getting to wash Mom’s car.
We received a “Happy Box” in the mail today. It had belated birthday presents for everybody. Alex’s words at seeing the wrapped presents – “Do you think it’s a toy or maybe a new book?” Love that boy!
It is the middle of May and this is how we had to dress for soccer practice tonight. Brr!
My cheering crew for the race “Run Like A Mother”.
Happy Mother’s Day!
The boys wanted to make sugar cookies so we did.

I would say this is a typical breakfast except the boys almost never have cereal (not to mention they had at least three bowls each).
This unprompted hug from Teague is due to the cars on Alex’s t-shirt. He saw them and went running.
Two out of the three in this picture were really happy.
Alex and Abram had a blast beating up on Bobby (the inflatable wacky arm guy) today. Wade’s birthday present continues to be a big hit with everyone.
Teague loved having a passenger. The minute Grant got out Teague was asking for “more”.
Alex decided he wanted to sleep in socks tonight and that he could put them on by himself…
Sidelines at soccer practice.
Alex thought Teague’s taco-eating method looked pretty cool and wanted to try it too.
Daddy devised a way for Mr. Independent to hold his own taco (with a little help).
This is Alex’s chosen attire for a walk to get ice cream in 60+ degree weather.
I was taking a picture of Alex in his hat and scarf, but Teague wanted in the picture. Then the boys wanted Madison in the picture too.
Adoption Day!
Teague is officially a Burch!
A free toy and all we have to do is write a review? Sure!

This is what happens when you go to the grocery immediately after a stop at the library.
(And when they are both dressed like Superman a nice old man gives them both a dollar.)
Alex always likes to check out the lobsters when we go to the fish store. Today the man got one out and let Alex look at it up close and personal. He offered to let Alex hold it but touching a fingertip was as close as he got.
It has been interesting to watch Teague with the neighborhood boys over the last few weeks. He definitely gravitates to Alex, Riley, and Abram instead of Grant and Glenna, but he’s two years younger and can’t always keep up.
We’re trying soccer again. Here’s hoping a 4 year old can handle hour long practices.
The water park was a definite hit!
A boy and his dog.
(Alex has really taken an interest in the animals recently. He has learned to approach them calmly and then to gently pet them. Amazingly now they don’t always run from him.)
Teague was so proud of his rocks. He carried them from one side of the yard and back (over and over).
Smile. You’re on camera.
(Wade brought home these video glasses to test. Alex has loved wearing them all day and recording/narrating everything he sees.)
Higher Daddy higher.
This reminds me of a 4 year old version’s of Born To Be Wild.
Tandem sliding – quite the accomplishment for Teague and Glenna.
Alex came home from school telling me this necklace was for catching rainbows. Tonight it was the requested item for dessert.
Mr. Independent can’t wait for his turn at brushing teeth (after Mom’s turn).
And so it begins with the second child (taught by the first child)
Alex turned his socks into knee socks and thought it was hilarious. He even requested the picture.
Teague was excited to learn that Madison will attempt to drink from his cup. (I was not as excited, but didn’t stop the behavior. Instead I grabbed my camera.)
We decided on an after dinner walk and Alex was a little concerned it might get dark before we got back to the house. He wanted a flashlight for everyone, but we finally set a group limit of two.
Teague decided he wanted a turn wearing the flashlight on his jeans too.
A little teamwork.
Happy Birthday to Mom.
Batman to the rescue.
Sometimes even Superman needs a good cry.
Alex likes to brush his teeth by himself in the morning. Thankfully I thought to check his face before we got ready to leave the house.
