This one spent all afternoon singing and rocking her babydoll – while carrying her purse.
Kaitlyn
I tried to sneak some sushi for dinner while the boys were at Awana. Instead of the boys, Kaitlyn begged for a piece. At least she only eats one (or maybe two).
Every morning I get onto the boys for their messy closet. They have dragged out books and other such things. Every morning they have to clean it up. Today I realized maybe they aren’t always to blame.
Little Momma.
S’mores.
Kaitlyn asks for her scissors all day long. By preschool she should have a wonderful scissor grip.
Before school.
Most days these two get along extremely well. Teague takes being a big brother very seriously.
The cleaning fairy does exist!!
Kaitlyn has decided pajamas are optional. If she’s put to bed in a top and bottom she wakes up without the bottoms. If she is put to bed in a one-piece pajama then she wakes up with nothing on – and she isn’t very happy about it.
She’s been a master at taking of baby’s clothes for a long time. Today she realized putting them on is hard work.
Today I got to experience my first dance class for Kaitlyn. She was very excited to go and has two friends from her school class attending. It was adorable. And the teacher is a saint – she manages to teach a 30 minute class with six 2-4 year olds.
Little mother.
Granny made Kailtyn and her baby adorable matching outfits for her birthday. I realized if I didn’t take pictures of them together soon, I’d run out of warm weather!
They were so excited to put their playing on hold to go buy windows for the tree house.
Today was a birthday party day! After a quick nap for Kaitlyn we loaded up and drove to Milwaukee for a bouncy house and cake.
Kaitlyn has moved on from cutting food to using scissors…
Parallel play at its finest.
Kaitlyn loves shoes – especially other people’s shoes.
I was determined to clean out the freezer today. I duct taped the “door open” sensor closed and got a pair of gloves. I was well into it when Kaitlyn showed up with her own mittens and wanted to help.
This girl would work puzzles (or “pubbles” as she says) all day long. This is a vast improvement to just dumping them all out on the floor and walking away.
Her fashion sense is showing – headphones for a belt.
Bus stop waiting.
I wasn’t there for Kaitlyn’s first ballet class, but Granny and Pop made sure she got there and took lots of pictures and videos.
Kaitlyn had her first ballet class today.
Granny and Pop feed the crew!
Sitting at the counter at Bulldog’s grill.
Wade and I are off to a wedding in NY this weekend so Granny and Pop are watching the kids. Kaitlyn obviously has Granny doing exactly what she wants.
Granny reads the books.
Teague’s school had a field trip to pick apples today. They were still munching on them when I came to pick him up.
Kaitlyn has been waiting for weeks to go to school. Today is her first day in the 2’s class and she is so excited!
Teague was kind enough to pose for a picture with Kaitlyn outside the school. Then they both wanted to get inside.
Everybody needs a snack.
These kids love the dress up trunk.
Teague decided to let Kaitlyn help him make cookies and share the dough.
We had a low-key Labor Day, but definitely made a trip to the beach – the last beach day of the year.
Daddy got the second floor of the treehouse built so we enjoyed the view before bed.
These kids would play together 24/7 if we’d let them. Today was a gorgeous day and I was happy to let them do as they wanted all day.
Everybody piled in and going for a ride.
We invited our Milwaukee friends up for Labor Day at the beach (a few days early). First we hung out at the beach.
Then we moved the party back to the house and grilled out.
One of my favorite beach crews.
Kaitlyn was pretty excited to be Dad’s helper on the tree house while the boys were in school.
Kaitlyn loved being the only one home today to help Wade build the treehouse.
My three.
The boys had fun playing after school today – especially when they realized the horses were out. Then we all learned that Liam has a new word “Moo” is for any large animal!
Kaitlyn created her own pull toy.
I managed to make it almost a year before Kaitlyn realized the grocery store had car carts. Now she asks for one every time and sometimes I say yes.
Just hanging out in the locker room during swim lessons for the boys.
I think I just interrupted an important phone call..
Kaitlyn has been requesting all things potty related – books, conversation, etc. We had nothing planned today so I decided to see if she was ready to stop using diapers. She definitely understood what the potty was for and would sit on it for me, but she managed to go 6 hours without needing the potty (or a diaper). We tried again after nap and she went 4 hours without needing the potty. I’m going to say she’s not quite ready for the whole potty training thing, but when she is there will be none of this going to every public bathroom every 20 minutes.
