Just hanging with Daddy.
Ben
I was cooking dinner and looked over to see that Ben put himself to sleep tonight.
I never quite got around to doing monthly comparison pictures with Kaitlyn. With Ben I actually have been doing 2 versions. One shows up on the daily pictures and has some current information too. The other is a very simple picture of him in a chair with a stuffed animal for quick comparison.
Hello blue eyes.
I love taking pictures of sleeping babies – especially my babies.
Is this how thumb sucking begins?
Just two more months and I can do a comparison with Alex – (same chair, hat, and outfit). Ben is growing faster than Alex so here’s hoping it still fits when he’s 4 months!
Saturday morning.
Maybe Ben will be a dancer. (This pose just cracks me up.)
Smiling, cooing, and kicking like crazy.
This napping champion took a 3 hour nap in my arms and refused to wake up when I had to get up to meet the bus.
This is just a typical night in the Burch house…
This wonderful baby. I put him in his carseat at 8:30 am and we’ve been running errands ever since. He woke up once to eat at 10 and it is now 1:30. Kaitlyn is down for her nap and he is sleeping in the carseat in the living room.
Today I had plenty of time and attempted to bathe both Ben and Kaitlyn at the same time. They both had fun and I now have two clean kids.
Tummy time with a smile – a first for everything.
Napping in the middle of laundry.
One of them seems a little more comfortable with this situation.
What a day! The kids were up pretty early considering they went to bed super late. We had a semi-lazy morning with my two boys heading to the Pinewood Derby. We got everyone else dressed and arrived in time to see the last few races and eat some pizza! Then we left Wade in charge of the oldest six kids (he was super Dad). Amber, Nicki, Ben, and I took a walk to the Commons and had some delicious Clam Chowder. The kids spent the rest of the day playing in the woods, talking Minecraft, playing Playmobil, diving the go kart, and causing mayhem. We finally grilled burgers and hot dogs for the kids and started Star Wars. Then we sent Wade out for Lobster Rolls and had a nice adult dinner. What a wonderful whirlwind trip!
We are missing two, but still one of my favorite groups of kiddos.
I have a family of readers.
Ben has not been a fan of tummy time at all. Today Kaitlyn tried to help by giving him some cars to play with. (It wasn’t successful.)
I slept in this bassinet as a baby. I’ve attempted to use it with all of my children, but only Ben seems to sleep really well in it.
We are getting real smiles over here and loving it!
We all made it out to the bus stop. This never happens!
Poor fourth child. He keeps ending up asleep on the floor.
I just love pajamas – especially matching ones.
Do you see the watery eyes? He’s not crying. It means he’s ready for a nap.
It was relatively warm today so we took the go cart out!
I always smirked to myself when I knew people had video monitors. I assumed they were extra worried about their baby and wanted to watch them every minute. I found myself needing a two monitor system (for Ben and Kaitlyn when she naps) – especially when I leave them napping and run across the street to the bus stop. This video system was suggested by numerous people and I installed it recently. I take back everything I ever said. It’s fun to watch the baby/preschooler sleep – Kaitlyn most of all. I had no idea she jumped on her bed every day before taking a nap.
It’s so hard when people don’t understand what you want/need and you have no words to tell them.
This rock star has taken 3+ hour naps in his crib the last few days – at exactly the same time Kaitlyn naps.
She’s learning to multi-task early.
Ignore the fact that the ring sling isn’t properly positioned. We are out and happy and hands-free! Ben is a pretty happy baby overall but hasn’t loved the baby carriers so far.
Sometimes when you are the fourth you fall asleep on the table waiting for everyone else to get ready.
One of the rare “tummy times” that isn’t pure misery.
Ben spends a lot of his time in the car seat – going from here to there with everyone else.
Brothers.
Ben loves to watch his cars. Maybe he’ll be a car-guy like Teague.
Teague was happy to help with Ben’s bottle while I cooked dinner.
We always read books before nap time and lately I’ve had my lap (and hands) full.
6 week checkup.
Height – 22.75 inches
Weight 11.24 pounds
Ben is getting an education in shopping from his sister. The new miniBoden catalog arrived and she has been pulling out pages all day.
Watchdog.
It’s official. Ben is losing his hair. The good news is he should only look like a bald man for a short time. I already see new hair beginning to grow.
This worked out well for everyone.
Ben is starting to focus on people and items. Today he loved watching his toys swing back and forth.
Baby belly button!
Start them early with the chores – folding laundry.
Yay! I think he likes the mini-bathtub.
