Month: January 2019
Every day after school – a book and a snack.
School projects.
Dance days wear her out.
This boy makes it known that he wants popcorn in his bowl (made by Pop) just like the big kids at snack time.
I was cleaning out a drawer and found some old letter stickers. I was going to throw them away but Wade convinced me to give them to the kids. I’m glad I did. They have put them to good use and provided me with quite a bit of entertainment when I happen upon them.
My only real question here is if he gave himself the stickers.
Some days the big one really helps out and I so appreciate it.
Why yes, my child not only moved his bowl from his high chair to the ground. But he also found a pretend beater from the play kitchen and is eating with that instead of a spoon or fork. Welcome to parenting 101. On the upside, he is using a utensil, is seated instead of standing, and is eating more food than the dogs.
One of my favorite Christmas gifts wasn’t on my list. I didn’t even know it existed. I opened a box to find a clock. I was a little confused since I don’t really need or want a new wall clock. Then Wade explained that it worked with Alexa. The best part being that it would show the timers. My least favorite part of my kitchen Alexa is that I use it for all kinds of timers (numerous ones at a time) but they don’t stay on the screen. They will fade to the background and a home screen or music lyrics will take priority. Often I need to now if something has only a few minutes left on a timer (especially in regards to cooking.) This clock solves all those problems. It also sets itself! I’m in love. Did I also mention it isn’t expensive?
Using my phone to talk to a friend in Milwaukee while playing a video game together.
(This is one instance where I do love video games.)
Teague’s job was to make sure we got home with the green pepper unharmed. I didn’t realize he had taken it out of the bag, but he did his job incredibly well.
How is this comfortable?
Ben doesn’t eat as much dog food as he used to, but he still retains some other dog-like behaviors….
This is a little late but here is the full series of Ben and his bear.
I had a meeting tonight and the kids wanted to cook. I was really impressed that Wade agreed to help three kids cook. I rarely agree to help with that many kids in the kitchen.

Shower baby.
In case you have never met my husband, he can be quite the story teller. Tonight he decided to tell the kids a story. I even convinced him to repeat it so that I could record it for posterity’s sake.
My kids still just love a box.
(And the neighbor’s kid does too.)
Teague’s been here.
(Now I need him to come back and fix it. He seems to know all the tricks to this thing. He’ll definitely be the kid I call in my old age to fix my electronics.)
We have moved from top to bottom – face painting to feet painting?
Yogurt. Yuck.
Taekwondo keeps taking up hours and hours of our days but the kids seem to enjoy it and have acquired quite a few new stripes.
These two are fully dressed and about to walk out of the door to go the bus stop. I have no idea if one is under-dressed or one is over-dressed, but this seems to be typical for this year.
It must be pretty great to be greeted by a dancing butterfly after your morning nap.
Morning Ben.
Alex is still enjoying his slime from Uncle John (it’s days are numbered). Kaitlyn really wants to play with it but does’t likes that it sticks to her hands. Alex offered to make her some gloves. I love his creativity (95% of the time).
Everyday shoes of winter.

(FYI – trying to get a 13 month old to stand in a certain position for a few minutes is darn near impossible.)
New Year’s is for bowling – at least in 2019. Wade and I decided to introduce the kids to duckpin bowling. Teague learned to keep score with pen and paper. Kaitlyn loved the size of the bowling balls (and playing ponies). Ben loved that he could run all over the tiny bowling alley. Wade and I loved that there were snacks and a good time was had by all! (This place is so tiny it doesn’t have kid shoes so the kiddos bowled in socks and only the adults got cool shoes.)
I’m going to point out that this was one of Ben’s Christmas gifts and Alex has found it endlessly entertaining.
(The newest in fidgets toys.)
Teague was immediately intrigued with the pen and paper method of score keeping.
(Also interesting that he won..)
Duckpin bowling – can you tell she loved it?
He’s a handful to take places but he’s just so darn cute!
(First bowling in the books.)
