Making macaroni and cheese on this icy, rainy day.
Month: January 2017
Teague loves to bake and I love to bake with him. The same is true of Kaitlyn. Baking with two children creates a little too much chaos for me, but that’s how it worked out today. I finally decided to let Teague be in charge (he’s good enough now to read the recipe and get all the ingredients) and see what happened. Overall it went pretty smoothly and we ended up with some yummy cookies!
The pictures seem to indicate all is well at the sleepover.
The boys were invited for a sleepover next door. They stood here all ready and waiting till the clock finally told the right time.
Obviously I put this right here for her to climb into.
Kaitlyn is now experimenting with the Goth lifestyle – or maybe she’s trying to eat the markers. You never know.
Teague didn’t want to be left out of the pictures so he moved his Lego building over in hopes of being photographed.
Sadly this is the best we got with him in the picture.
Saturday morning reading.
For this first time this school year, the boys returned to jumping on the rock after school. (I think we are all missing the sledding we normally would be doing.)
Friday night library trip.
Friday night library trip.
Friday night library trip.
The boys got a 3D printer for Christmas and have spent quite a bit of time printing out objects. There are a few not shown, and some that didn’t work out, but these are their finished products. (The pink turtle is Kaitlyn’s.)
Before school round-up.
Sneaky nap struck again.
Today she wanted lunch on the floor and why not?
Kaitlyn is becoming ver independent these days. She was adamant that she could pour her own cereal. (You see how that turned out.) We clean most of it up and then shared a little with Madison.
The 3D printer was definitely one of the favorite gifts this Christmas.
The house was a little too quiet and then I found these two sweetly playing in Kaitlyn’s room.
Kaitlyn is suddenly all about breakfast picnics on the floor.
Someone got a new umbrella for Christmas.
A typical school night – helping two boys with homework and reading a book to Kaitlyn.
Kaitlyn had her new bag packed and was all dressed for dance class the minute she woke up. I think she’s a little excited about the backpack!
After school pickup.
Baking with her new mixer.
Kaitlyn added a little something to her church clothes today. Something is happening to me because I actually let her wear them to Sunday School.
This was the happiness before I announced it was time to clean up for bed.
Teague’s new engine is evidently a little low on juice.
Santa brought the boys a new sled for Christmas. We’ve had nothing but warm temperatures and rain. Teague and Kaitlyn have spent hours enjoying the sled inside.
These days Kaitlyn always requests “Alla” read.
Playroom madness.
We’ve now had to dedicate an entire drawer to just Kaitlyn’s dress up clothes. She is in heaven.
Mary called and invited us on an outing to Funtopia World. I had never heard of it, but after looking it up, I couldn’t wait to go. Unfortunately everybody was out of school so most of the activities were booked, but we bought time in the soft play area. Once we were there and saw the climbing area, I can’t wait to go back. It looks amazing and I want to know why I didn’t have this place growing up!?
An outing to Funtopia World.
One of them was more excited for this snuggle than the other.
Kaitlyn was determined to snuggle with her baby on the baby’s bed. Amazingly, she fit – kind of.
All the Christmas Legos are still a favorite. (The Incredible Hulk is the most fought over guy.)
So far, so good.
Wade’s favorite part of any family visit – loading the car with the enormous amounts of things we seem to acquire in just a few days. (This doesn’t apply just to Christmas.)
Unwinding.
There is nothing like an 8 hour road trip and then walking in the door and realizing you haven’t changed a single diaper all day. I went to change Kaitlyn and realized she was dry. We headed straight for the potty and potty training.
Making grape julius with Gram.
While Wade and I took a quick trip to Boston, Mom and Melissa watched the kids. From the pictures, it appears that everyone had a great time and didn’t miss us a bit.
Aunt Lissy took the boys and her two to jump all morning.
Kaitlyn got some alone time with Gram all morning long.
I realized that this past year there are very few group photos of us. Here’s to having lots more in 2017.
Gram and her grandkids.
