I was later informed they were fighting zombies from Fort Sinister (The location at least is from a book we are reading together. The zombies are from who knows where….)
Teague
The latest in tandem sliding.
Fort building – every day.
We haven’t seen that sneaky nap in quite a long long time.
(or any nap at all for Teague)
Alex had library at school yesterday and leaves the books at home for the entire week. These guys love the latest books he brought home. They couldn’t wait to finish their snack so they could look at the book.
The boys begged for a bubble bath tonight.
(Showers are so easy and much less messy.)
The dreaded flossing.
Do you see the awe on all three faces? Wade got some kind of crazy converter that lets old school Nintendos (we own them all) be played on new TVs and look somewhat decent. He’s introducing the boys to old favorites.
Teague has the cutest phrase for tears – “cry water.” Any time there happen to be tears and he has been wearing his glasses, he’ll come to me and ask me to clean off the “cry water.” The picture below has tears, but from a nap, not sadness!
Everybody had today off school so they built a fort in the kitchen – perfect.
This picture needs a sound track. I had no idea Alex and Teague were going to sing when I lit the candle.
(They didn’t last night.)
The kids and I drove to Milwaukee today for Riley’s birthday party. There were games in the gym, but my favorite were the games Nicki had out in the common area. Hilarious!
We have a lot planned for tomorrow so we decided to start celebrating Wade’s birthday today – with Rendezvous ribs, birthday cookies, and a few presents.
The kids were super excited to start celebrating Wade’s birthday a day early.
The snow is definitely melting, but today one of the Moms brought sleds to our after school playdate! The boys loved it!
Today we had sleds!
These boys and their after school snow fun – it’s almost every day!
These boys can’t get enough of playing together in the snow after school. Here’s hoping we don’t get any warm weather.
I think we need a bigger chair.
Teague is taking semi-private swim lessons with our neighbor. They seemed to be having a great time with their instructor today.
Another Monday. Another bus stop picture.
Only my boys would brave the windy, sub-freezing temps with no winter coats for a picture to make Mom happy.
Wade normally makes the kids cinnamon toast on Saturdays, but today he introduced them to French Toast.
(It was love at first taste!)
Teague chose chocolate fondue as his dessert tonight.
(Alex had some major regret after he saw what he was missing.)
Waiting.
And sometimes you turn around to find your son lounging upside down at the bottom of the slide.
We kind of love our after school playdates.
Alex couldn’t wait to pick Teague up from school today and play with his friends in the snow again. Today the boys perfected the penguin slide.
This boy was so excited when his new belt came in the mail – after begging and begging for a new one when he outgrew the old one.
We had an odd Monday today. Teague started back to school and Alex is off till Thursday. We dropped Teague at his class and then came home to do a little playing.
Then we picked Teague up and of course stayed to play a little in the snow with Teague’s friends. (Note that only one boy is wearing snow pants – not one of my boys!)
Teague started back to school on Monday. Alex doesn’t go back till Thursday. Now that Alex has seen what our days look like, I’m not sure we’ll ever get him to get on the bus.
Sunday – football and naps.
Sunday naps.
The yearly toast has changed quite a bit – see here.
We decided to celebrate New Year’s Eve with our Milwaukee friends a few days late. (The kids didn’t mind and we all love an excuse to get together!) Here’s a comparison of our first New Year’s Eve celebration in 2012 and now….
The kids bounced all over the house from playroom to video games.
Don’t judge. My children stayed in their pajamas all day. Then put on a new pair just to go to bed.
Happy New Year!
One last group photo before we left Collierville.
Aunt Emmy brought crafts! The boys were painting puzzle pieces to make into ornaments. Kaitlyn and a little trouble just sitting and watching.
Teague was so thrilled to help Anthony wash dishes at the Burch Christmas.
Aunt Emmy’s got a lap full!
I want it on record that he dressed himself like this and I tried over and over to get him to wear his pants lower.
Christmas morning.
(Kaitlyn is much more interested in everyone else’s toys – She’s holding Alex’s new dragon.)
Christmas Eve.
I’d heard about this awesome Santa. The boys couldn’t wait to tell him what they wanted for Christmas and I couldn’t wait to take pictures.
I didn’t count on the torrential downpour, the bad lighting, my grumpy daughter, and my two seconds to take a picture. Oh well, it could have been fantastic.
We needed a few last minute items before the holidays.
Everyone’s favorite part of the night…
Sometimes a dead car battery gives you just enough time for a picture before church.
Teague got a new book at school and couldn’t wait for us to read it.
Pajama Day at school!
