Alex is packed and ready to go on the airplane with Daddy.
(He is spending the week with Granny and Pop in TN.)
Alex is wrapping Granny’s Birthday present.
(He picked it out all by himself.)
We are doing a little rearranging and all of Alex’s books are currently on the floor.
They have kept him entertained for hours.
I always use Alex’s old white t-shirts as undershirts. It came to my attention today (when he had trouble getting his arms through) that this t-shirt is a 12-18 months size.
Water baby – through and through.
Alex has added watermelon to his list of fruits this summer.
Alex and Daddy.
Yes, I’ll have some strawberries with my powdered sugar.
Alex mid-air! Riley and Alex had a blast at the pool and spent most of the time running circles and jumping in.
Can you find Alex in the mess that is currently the office (playroom)?
I’m not sure why, but Alex has returned to the days of chewing on Moose.
The living room was too quiet while I was cooking dinner so I peaked in to see what everyone was doing.
In December Alex started taking 3-4 hour naps. I enjoyed the extra time for “me” and let him sleep. In the last month we noticed Alex had significant trouble falling asleep at night and was waking earlier in the morning. I finally decided it might be the naps. The latest plan is to have him down by 12:30 (or 1 at the latest) and then wake him up at 3. We have seen instant improvement. He goes to bed easily around 8 and sleeps till 7.
One last swim in the pool before we leave for Milwaukee.
Wade had Alex convinced the rocks he found were dinosaur eggs and might hatch.
Alex decided they would hatch if they were read a bedtime story.
(When Alex woke up the next morning the rocks were gone and dinosaurs had appeared.)
I decided it was time for Alex to explore new sleeping options at B’s house (previously he has been in a pack-n-play in the closet).
He decided against the bed and chose the floor for his nap.
Alex loves his new pirates (Captain Hook) and entertained himself most of the drive to Paducah.
Happy 4th of July.
This set of books and “reading” pen have provided hours of entertainment for Alex.
The best part is he is content to “read” when I have a last minute work issues.
Wade has been working in attic for the past week (laying flooring, electrical, etc).
Alex has been begging to go up for a week.
Today there was finally enough flooring for us to agree.
We have recently realized Alex has become a nail biter. Because we never see him bite his nails we are pretty sure it must be in bed.
Therefore, he is now sleeping in mittens.
“Look Mom. I made a sandwich.”
“Sugar Day”
Every morning Alex and I go outside to water our plants.
Every day he asks, “Is it sugar day?”
He thinks the Miracle Grow crystals are blue sugar and loves to measure them into my watering can.
(We’ve had quite a few discussions on not eating this sugar.)
An after dinner treat – Yo Mama!
Silly faces on the playground.
Alex was quite upset with us when he realized the reason he couldn’t join Daddy outside was we didn’t have a railing. Someday we’ll put one back up…
I asked Alex and Riley to jump at the same time. They immediately grabbed hands.
Abram and Alex sharing a book at church.
Captain Underwear.
Alex has been anxiously awaiting our next trip to Classic Slice. This time he brought some quarters.
Just hanging out – on the couch with a snack.
The question was, “How much do you love me?”
The answer is shown above – spreading his arms as wide as he can.
(Wade taught him that one!)
Alex and Abby discussing the flower found in the swim bag.
It was a hot day so we spent the afternoon with the sprinkler outside.
Happy Father’s Day!
Emelia and Alex sliding together.
It was too hot to do much so we headed to the pool!
Alex has been begging for TV all week so I promised him a movie tonight.
