Wisconsin State Fair!
Yearly tradition – Hoyt pool group photo.
Road trip time!
Teague has been on poop scoop duty and his shoes got a little “dirty.” He tried to bring them inside to clean them and I promptly sent him back outside. (I love summer.)
It was an ice cream kind of night!
VBS – wacky hair day.
Ready for VBS – rainbow day. Only Ben was willing to attempt to dress in theme.
National Night Out Block Party – Teague was hoping for a gift card but got a tattoo.
Ben is still trying to get the hang of Fortnite (among other games). Some days the big boys are more willing than others to answer questions.
These two were so cute working on their “homework” before the day really got started.
I wanted to try a new hike. The boys humored me – even knowing it was going to be much harder and longer than any we had done before.
Wade took the day off work and we headed to the beach – the real beach. Teague spent quite a bit of time in the water, but I found the perfect moment when these two were together playing in the sand and talking about video games.
We tried something new today – and had so much fun!
I demanded everybody get out of the house again today. The big boys were looking for the shortest excursion they could come up with and chose the Storybook trail. We did remember bug spray but it didn’t do much to help. This trail is always bad with bugs in the summer and seems especially bad this year. We decided to mark it off our list till fall.
We ventured to the Seuss museum today.
Teague is enjoying summer and all the time to bake sweets.
Teague found one of Kaitlyn’s rings inside and wanted to set the perfect scene for returning it. The other kids wanted to be a part of ruining the moment!
His words went something like this, “Kaitlyn, I don’t want to marry you, but would you like your ring back?”
We always have at least one extra gallon of milk in the basement refrigerator. We had to get it out tonight to fill the glasses with milk for dinner. The big boys took one drink and declared the milk bad. I was annoyed because it was a brand new gallon that wasn’t supposed to expire till 7/29, but it happens. Thankfully we had another gallon and it seemed to be fine.
The boys were sweaty and “done” with our hike when I requested this picture. Alex gave it one go and refused another attempt. I was quite amused at the picture he took.
Teague’s daily job is picking berries. Most of them get eaten before they make it inside, but we are trying to save some from the birds.
Sometimes Teague likes to hang out in the kitchen but forgets his own reading material. Then he reads anything available – even Ben’s books.
I don’t think either big boy left the house today. There was definitely a lot of TV watching and game playing for them today.
Mario Kart has become a nightly thing. Kaitlyn has fun playing and the big boys are trying desperately to beat Wade, who has been playing the game since his middle school days.
Ben requested the old garage (a toy of my dad’s) and everybody wanted to play with it.
These two dressed completely independently of each other and ended up twinning.
Teague did some baking today too – Chocolate chip pie.
Lake day for Ben and Teague.
Cinnamon donuts for breakfast. (Of course he didn’t come downstairs till 10 so he ate the entire batch himself.)
Ben’s response to “strike a pose” has been taken to a whole new level.
Taking a moment with Dad.
Today we had to say goodbye to Granny and Pop but we got one last picture first!
We had family pictures tonight. It was hot enough to be quite miserable but everyone did a great job.
Today I learned that Teague plays skee-ball left handed.
Saturday morning cartoons.
It was a s’more kind of night.
Snuggling with monkey – age 12.
It’s how he spent the majority of the drive, but nobody complains!
Last goodbye hugs before we hit the road.
We celebrated Kaitlyn’s birthday with Gram!
The Milwaukee crew before we said our goodbyes.
The McCracken County Fair did not disappoint.
We took all the kiddos to the water park for the day!
Teague taught Grant to make cookies – delicious!
