I went to a meeting last night and Wade put the kids to bed. He warned me that Kaitlyn had a fall and scratched her cheek. He told me he put a band-aid on it to make sure no blood got on her sheet. I was not quite envisioning a band-aid as big as her cheek when she woke up this morning.
Kaitlyn
Typical nap time routine includes two books – read simultaneously by Kaitlyn and me. Lately Tabit has been appearing at exactly the time we start reading and sits with us until I put Kaitlyn in her bed.
There is nothing I love more than a snowy bus stop morning.
Finally she gets some alone time with the boys’ favorite Ninja Turtle toys.
A little time with Reggie after his bath.
Kaitlyn still doesn’t say many words, but today she said “pie” clear as day.
This week her favorite is blueberries.
Alex was in charge of the bedtime book tonight.
Pajamas.
(I really was just impressed I had three days in a row with all three kids in a picture together.)
The Game? Zombie Orbitz (I think. The last word is always mumbled. I still want to know where they learned about zombies.)
Daddy went to Atlanta and brought everybody back GaTech shirts.
(Truthfully Kaitlyn’s was a little big so this is one of Alex’s when he was younger.)
Kaitlyn couldn’t get enough of riding in red jeep.
Apple eaters.
She was determined to sit in the big chair just like Teague (without even a booster).
Mornings.
After taking pictures from the other side of the counter I went to get a second spoon. Then I realized Kaitlyn wasn’t standing in her chair at all, but had climbed up into a drawer to get closer to the action. This child will be the death of me!
Kaitlyn still loves her loveys, but I’m starting to see some definite attachment to this particular blanket.
She’s so desperate to join in with the crazy noises she hears her brothers making outside.
Fort building – every day.
Some days waking up from a nap is a little rough.
Kaitlyn got in a little sledding accident today. Thankfully it wasn’t too bad and she was giggling down the next run.
Mornings.
It turns out Kaitlyn loves dinosaurs too.
Everybody had today off school so they built a fort in the kitchen – perfect.
This picture needs a sound track. I had no idea Alex and Teague were going to sing when I lit the candle.
(They didn’t last night.)
Wade knows how to liven up Saturday mornings.
We have entered the Birthday season at our house. Kaitlyn was a huge help (heavy sarcasm) when it came to wrapping gifts this morning.
I think she wanted to go play in the snow.
I think we need a bigger chair.
Kaitlyn’s “go to” item to get out in my kitchen is this cooling rack. She also usually ends up standing on it.
(Thankfully this is also the easiest item to put away when she is done.)
Kaitlyn loved testing out her new booster seat.
Often we get Kaitlyn in her high chair and munching on something while we get the rest of lunch or dinner ready. Today we looked over and realized she hadn’t been able to wait for lunch, let alone her bed.
(This is a first for any of my children.)
Rocking baby.
(I’m rather enjoying having a girl who likes baby dolls, which surprises me to no end. I also love when she plays Ninja Turtles and Batman.)
All in the name of keeping her entertained for 45 minutes at Alex’s basketball practice.
Kaitlyn’s 18 month checkup.
Weight – 22 lbs, 11 oz. (48%)
Height – 32.25 (52%)
Head circumference – 45 cm (25%)
Nap is over!
Kaitlyn is in charge of dinner tonight.
Changing baby’s diaper.
(Fun fact – Kaitlyn wore this same dress last year at Christmas – see here.)
We celebrated the New Year a few days late with our Milwaukee friends!
Don’t judge. My children stayed in their pajamas all day. Then put on a new pair just to go to bed.
Happy New Year!
One last group photo before we left Collierville.
Granny gave Kaitlyn raisins once in the green cup. Kaitlyn was pretty sure it should stay full after that.
Kaitlyn seemed quite determined to get into everything today. I would move this little stool into another room and she would pick it up and carry it right back into the kitchen. (She’s not going to be hard-headed at all….)
Aunt Emmy’s got a lap full!
Kaitlyn wanted to wear her new kitty ears. Who am I to say no?
Christmas morning.
(Kaitlyn is much more interested in everyone else’s toys – She’s holding Alex’s new dragon.)
Christmas Eve.
I’d heard about this awesome Santa. The boys couldn’t wait to tell him what they wanted for Christmas and I couldn’t wait to take pictures.
I didn’t count on the torrential downpour, the bad lighting, my grumpy daughter, and my two seconds to take a picture. Oh well, it could have been fantastic.
Just waiting…
