My guess is she is plotting her next scheme.
Kaitlyn
Caitlin evidently got dessert every night – and loved it. At home she eats a few bites of ice cream and is done. I was informed she ate every last bite of the ice cream and cone. They are teaching her well!
Harper and Mackenzie attend preschool right down the street from Gram. They got a huge escort to school today!
Puddle jumpers.
Road tip to Paducah.
Alex and Teague were never the stereotypical children when it came to ketchup and other dips. Kaitlyn has discovered dips and wants to use them for everything. Today she proceeded to dip her slices of boiled egg in her yogurt. Yuck. But she ate every bite….
These two have the sweetest relationship. Today Teague was telling Kaitlyn all about the juice they were going to have with lunch (a very special treat at our house). Finally he says, “Kaitlyn, do you want me to lift you up to see?” Kaitlyn, who still rarely talks, said very clearly, “Yes!” This was as high as he could lift her. I was laughing so hard at the entire exchange, especially that he only lifted her a couple of inches.
Thank you Pinterest! This game allowed me to cook dinner in peace.
Saturday.
Teague is so excited to learn to read and Kaitlyn sat still for part of a book today.
One of the most often heard phrases in our house, “Mom, Kaitlyn’s on the kitchen table.”
When your kid gets off the bus and asks to go sledding, the answer is always yes!
Another nap I have to interrupt.
It’s a sad day when you realize at 5 pm that your daughter still has her name tag from the YMCA on her back (put there at 9 am).
Sunday mornings are for fixing.
It turns out video games aren’t just for the big boys.
Practicing check writing, just like Granny.
She’s definitely my daughter. She refused to leave the house without three books today.
Play dough – her newest love.
Long naps are the best, but I still had to wake her up.
Kaitlyn’s latest trick is to push a kitchen chair to the kitchen counter. She can now pretty much reach everything. Nothing in my house is safe. Yesterday I caught her turning on the stove!?!
No wipe is safe when Kaitlyn is around. She loves to empty containers and then chew on them indefinitely. Yuck!
Most nights I give in and let her “help” brush her teeth.
In the 20 seconds I started to curl my hair, Kaitlyn evidently went down the stairs (a new skill), climbed on the kitchen table, retrieved her oatmeal, climbed halfway up the stairs, and finished her breakfast. We are so in trouble….
Pigtails.
At least she understands the idea – if not the exact right placement.
I love a snowy day.
Yo Mama, we missed you.
Happy Valentine’s Day.
Kaitlyn still loves her shower, but suddenly she hates to be dried off with a towel. I decided to buy her a robe and that has proven to stop the tears. She loves her robe and we use that in place of the towel.
The day Kaitlyn ate everyone’s lunch but her own. (They were all having the same thing.)
One of the most often heard phrases in our house is, “Kaitlyn’s on the table.”
I went to a meeting last night and Wade put the kids to bed. He warned me that Kaitlyn had a fall and scratched her cheek. He told me he put a band-aid on it to make sure no blood got on her sheet. I was not quite envisioning a band-aid as big as her cheek when she woke up this morning.
Typical nap time routine includes two books – read simultaneously by Kaitlyn and me. Lately Tabit has been appearing at exactly the time we start reading and sits with us until I put Kaitlyn in her bed.
There is nothing I love more than a snowy bus stop morning.
Finally she gets some alone time with the boys’ favorite Ninja Turtle toys.
A little time with Reggie after his bath.
Kaitlyn still doesn’t say many words, but today she said “pie” clear as day.
This week her favorite is blueberries.
Alex was in charge of the bedtime book tonight.
Pajamas.
(I really was just impressed I had three days in a row with all three kids in a picture together.)
The Game? Zombie Orbitz (I think. The last word is always mumbled. I still want to know where they learned about zombies.)
Daddy went to Atlanta and brought everybody back GaTech shirts.
(Truthfully Kaitlyn’s was a little big so this is one of Alex’s when he was younger.)
Kaitlyn couldn’t get enough of riding in red jeep.
Apple eaters.
She was determined to sit in the big chair just like Teague (without even a booster).
Mornings.
After taking pictures from the other side of the counter I went to get a second spoon. Then I realized Kaitlyn wasn’t standing in her chair at all, but had climbed up into a drawer to get closer to the action. This child will be the death of me!
Kaitlyn still loves her loveys, but I’m starting to see some definite attachment to this particular blanket.
She’s so desperate to join in with the crazy noises she hears her brothers making outside.
