Kaitlyn sleeps with 3 blankets, 3 or 4 stuffed animals, 5 or 6 loveys, and 1 baby doll. She rarely every asks for something to leave the crib, but if she wants something it is always this particular blanket.
Kaitlyn
Taking her baby shopping.
This is life. Kaitlyn was adamant about wearing a too small winter puffy vest with only a diaper and a yellow hair bow. They all wanted seconds on fruit for breakfast but wanted it out of the big bowl – why not?
She wants to be just like her big brother.
I turned around to see Kaitlyn had helped herself to the iPad and headphones.
(Wonder where she got the idea – see here.)
Her favorite activity – “cut”
Wacky Sock Run 2016
(Brrr!)
Hanging out in Dad’s shop.
She always helps carry the groceries and gets mad that I won’t let her carry the milk. Today I let her try to carry a gallon and she made it all the way to the backdoor.
World’s best big brother right there.
Napping.
Deep concentration.
Happy Mother’s Day
She can’t fathom that this car isn’t made for her and doesn’t understand why she does’t fit. Showing her how well a doll fits inside has done nothing to change her mind.
Gram and her five.
Sunbathers.
Good big brothers sit for makeovers from their 1 year old sister.
Book lover.
She’ll take a ride with just any boy…
This girl will stack any and everything.
We decided to try out the spiral donut shop in downtown Barrington. It even had a play kitchen to entertain Kaitlyn.
They call this game, “The Kaitlyn Express.” He asks her if she wants a ride on the Kaitlyn Express. She runs and lays down on the blanket. Then he pulls her around the house until she falls off. Then they start the entire game over again.
Looking for horses.
Bedtime routines.
Napping – until I wake her up for Teague’s swim lessons.
First watermelon of the season!
Kaitlyn is an underwear thief. Consider yourself warned.
I was gone all afternoon and came home to find Kaitlyn outside helping Wade build patio furniture. He had also put her hair in a ponytail. I love that he attempted it and laughed inside all afternoon at the jaunty angle.
(He did comment it was much harder to do than he thought it would be.)
I occasionally leave Teague in charge of the monitor if Kaitlyn’s nap is still going when I need to walk down to the street to get Alex off the bus. Yesterday I was shocked to come inside and find both kids playing in the playroom. (I had no idea he could get her out of her crib.) Today he showed me how he did it.
Overalls.
She has been playing with these dinosaurs all day. I can also officially say her first animal sound is a dinosaur “ROAR.” Cutest sound ever!
Sleeping beauty – about to be awoken..
We had peanut butter toast for breakfast. Would you have ever guessed?
I can’t tell if she is more fascinated with the colors or the beeps.
She may be a country girl yet.
When the 1 year old is leading the charge, I decided to get out of the way!
Let’s be clear that is not her toothbrush…
(But then it’s not mine either.)
This is a typical Kaitlyn pout. It’s normal accompanied by a loud screech, but not always.
Bedtime.
I asked these two to help me unload the dishwasher. Imagine my surprise when Kaitlyn promptly began putting things in their correct place and ended up putting up significantly more than Teague.
Me and my crazies.
We spent most of the day outside working in the yard – weather be darned.
I walked into MOPPETS to pick up Kailtyn. She looked at me and very clearly said “backpack”. When your child only says about 5 words you get excited about new ones – especially multi syllable ones! She then repeated it three times as she walked over to it and we got it off the hook to go home.
This is very typical Kaitlyn. She finds a book. She pulls a chair up somewhere and settles in to read.
Mini tantrum at the doctor’s office – awesome.
(We had an appointment with a nurse for Teague to get two shots and ended up waiting for over 45 minutes in the waiting room. I kind of wanted to throw a tantrum too.)
Poor Madison is now the subject of Kaitlyn’s makeover’s.
They have no idea why they should be so excited that it is bedtime, but I know why!!
(Mom loves bedtime or rather the time after bedtime.)
Kaitlyn is so close to learning to jump. The boys were trying to teach her the last step.
These kids really wanted a snack and I really wanted to finish my book. (I only had 20 pages left.)
They got tired of waiting. Alex popped the popcorn and brought everything into the living room – including the cutting board, apple, and knife so that I could finish up the snacks without leaving my chair or my book.
Stretch.
