It’s a water-kind of day.
Kaitlyn
That night I made everyone pose for a group picture.
(Can’t you feel the excitement coming from my boys?)
Feeding fish.
Kaitlyn gets one more Birthday celebration with Wade’s family.
(Note the tiny wooden bowls – made by Jerry for Kaitlyn’s new play kitchen.)
Fearless.
(Alex never made it off the ground into the treehouse. Teague had to be coached. This one just started climbing.)
Let vacation begin!
That also means lots of nights in strange beds and strange rooms…
Shower? Why would she need a shower? She made sure to thoroughly scrub her hair with sand.
Smelling the flowers.
(Or destroying them – whichever sounds more like a 2 year old.)
Worn out from piling up pillows.
Jumping pictures might be even better.
First time at the Shedd Aquarium.
Another beach day. Another dock picture.
Her latest speciality is baby soup.
The coordinated upside-down-on-the-couch picture proved much harder than anyone anticipated.
The tiniest little astronaut.
The boys discovered the new dress up clothes I added to the bin and decided to be in charge of lunch today. It was awesome! They did everything – including cook bacon 🙂
Happy 4th!
Just testing out some new makeup – birthday gifts are awesome!
Happy 2nd Birthday Kaitlyn!
This hair styling kit was a birthday present and now she loves to do her hair. I decided it might help amuse her on our car ride and she spent a good portion of the drive with the blow dryer and curling iron in her hair.
Just a little local playground fun.
That time Teague tried to change the doll’s diaper for Kaitlyn and realized it was much harder than it looked.
This morning I put everybody to work. The boys were cleaning and Kaitlyn was putting away canned goods from Sam’s Club.
Today we were all alone at the beach and it was nice and peaceful – until the kids got bored of being with each other.
I take absolutely no credit for any of this ensemble. She has strong ideas and opinions.
Kaitlyn could barely sit still she was so excited to get some of Leah’s makeup.
New shoes. What more could a girl want for her birthday?
Summer Days.
She snacks.
Beach Day 21,216.
(There are never too many.)
We got Reggie out to play today and the kids loved it! (I’m not so sure how Reggie felt about it.)
Morning milk.
Having a birthday near July 4th is a little crazy so we celebrated with friends a few weeks early!
Mischief maker.
Kaitlyn has discovered our dress up trunk – but our options in her size are limited….
Kaitlyn loves to point out everyone she knows on this board.
Of course she wanted to bring a lovey to the beach. And it had to be the white one.
Teague got this V-tech monkey as a gift when we brought him home from Korea. It was played with but only occasionally. Kaitlyn has definitely made me glad we never got rid of it. She loves to dress this monkey.
She was so excited to get her own controller.
I took this picture specially to remind me of her habit of getting a pillow before she lays down on the floor to pitch a fit.
(Comfort first – always.)
We had the beach to ourselves today.
We are headed to Sam’s Club, a 20 minute drive away. I was happy to see everyone packed reading material.
Beach Day
(Baby belly.)
Cut. Cut. Cut.
(It’s her favorite thing to do lately and now she realized there are kid knives in the drawer.)
Kaitlyn can take her shoes off, but can’t put on her shoes. This makes it difficult to change shoes the twenty million times a day she would like. Today she convinced Teague to help her put on a new pair.
Sunday shenanigans.
Snuggles with Gram.
We introduced Gram to the beach today.
Kaitlyn couldn’t wait to help Gram with the replanting.
Napping.
