Teague got a phone (Alex’s old one) and new headphones for Christmas.
Month: January 2023
Kaitlyn got a new book and has spent every free minute reading.
Ben was having trouble putting on his shoes. Then I realized he had on five pairs of socks. We finally settled on wearing three to school. (When I picked him up he had removed several more because he said his feet were sweaty.)
This is how I found Alex eating breakfast this morning. I tried a new cinnamon roll casserole and Alex loved it (he was the only one).
Back to school has been a little harder on some of my kids than others.
This boy has been stacking pantry items for years.
Wade’s dad is a wood turner and often comes up with the coolest gifts for the kids for Christmas. He didn’t disappoint this year! The kids all got money dispensers. They are filled with $5 bills taped together. You pull out whatever is needed and cut. Pop even said he would refill if needed.
Pop also gave me a bowl with a new finish he is trying. I love the look. I believe he said it is a copper type glaze.
The other awesome handmade gift of the year was from Wade’s Uncle John. He gifted all the kids money banks. They are some of the coolest banks!
Family game time.
The boys playing Fortnite. Wade is joining then from another device downstairs. Ben is begging to play but he’s going to have to wait quite a few years.
Everyone enjoyed their last day of vacation today. The kids loved having one more day before school started. Wade was enjoying one last day off work. Granny and Pop enjoyed one last day in Grafton.
Wade took the the two youngest for a swim at Granny and Pop’s hotel this morning. The two older boys and I were lazy bums. Once we were all together, we spent the rest of the day playing dolls, monster trucks, reading books, and playing games.
Sunday roundup.
We started the day with Church. Then Alex wanted to treat Granny and Pop to lunch. (It was a really sweet gesture but it also meant he got to avoid leftovers.) The rest of the day we spent playing games and cooking. Granny helped Kaitlyn make Apple Hand Pies – they were delicious!
