Toadfrogs

A Five Pound Bag

This story is going to go down in Burch family history. Does everyone remember clean out day and I mentioned that I found candy and food wrappers in Teague’s room. (Honestly they were in both boys’ rooms.) We cleaned all of them out of all the rooms. I re-iterated that there was no eating in the rooms. I didn’t make a single comment about the fact that I found Coke cans, candy wrappers, etc about the things they weren’t really supposed to be eating in the first place.

Last night I was in Teague’s room to tell him good night. There was a snack bowl on his bedside table and Legos all over his bed. We had a slight disagreement about him cleaning the bed of Legos so that he had enough room to sleep. (I didn’t even mention the snack bowl because he was so upset about having to clean his bed off.) As we were moving the Legos, it happened to shift some pillows on his bed and I saw a bright yellow something under his pillow. When he went in his closet, I peaked. I just about died! It was a BJ’s bag of chocolate chips – 3/4 gone. The child had obviously had this under his pillow a while and was working his way through it! Part of me was so impressed at the guts to take an entire huge bag and part of me couldn’t believe after our discussion on clean out day that he hadn’t gotten rid of it! I told him I was going to take the bag and his Alexa and we would discuss tomorrow. Then I went downstairs and started laughing and laughing (and called my Mom to laugh some more).
