Our first trip to the park since fall.

Our first trip to the park since fall.
It was gorgeous this morning, and after preschool, so I promised Ben a trip to the park after nap. Unfortunately, the weather took a turn for the worse and we only got to play a short time before the rain chased us away.
Somehow my kids got it into their heads to make puppets. Thankfully they were happy with paper bag puppets. They colored all morning on these and I wonder why I never thought of this before?
Alex thought it would be hilarious to photobomb Ben’s picture, but it ended up being Alex’s only picture today!
These mini-dinosaurs are still a favorite. (They are a left-over from making Valentine’s Day cards.)
I definitely didn’t teach him this, but he does this with everything he eats in a bowl – cereal, ice cream, yogurt. Of course, this is my kid that loves all food so probably he just doesn’t want to miss a bite/lick.
Homework at the kitchen table.
This Lego kit has been around since Christmas but Teague was re-motivated today to put it together.
Mini-dinosaurs for the win.
My plan was to wash all the dog pillows. As I turned over the dog pillow in the kitchen to remove the cover, I found a little surprise. All of my children sneak treats, but only one hides wrappers under various items. I was especially amused that he obviously didn’t like it and still hid it anyway.
Boys are gross.
Cookie time.
Choo. Choo.
As Ben has grown and passed milestones, I haven’t had any problems letting go of items or clothing. I have felt a sense of freedom in passing on bouncy seats, bottles, baby toys, etc. However, I am having a lot of trouble when it comes to books. For the last six months, I have noticed that Ben rarely chooses the board books.
I tried to clean them out once before, but I wasn’t ready to let them go. Very, very few of ours are in good enough condition to keep or pass on. Most of ours have been well loved for 13 years. A few of them were new to Ben, but very few. Our favorites are held together with a hope and a prayer.
I found today I was finally ready to sort and clean them out. Thankfully there is a bin in our community that takes books of all kinds to be recycled or reused.
Another one finished.
Game night.
This is our little secret. Nobody tell Kaitlyn.
After Kaitlyn lost her top front tooth, we realized the other top tooth was loose. In fact, it was really loose. However, Kaitlyn hates to lose teeth so I haven’t been checking it nightly yet. Imagine everyone’s surprise, especially Kaitlyn’s, when the tooth came out in her bagel this morning! That was the most stress-free tooth removal we have ever had.

He arranged and asked for this picture.
It’s hard to get away with much in a house with so many people. Kaitlyn came running in to tell me that Ben was drawing on the walls. I went to investigate and Ben was acting the little angel. Pretty quickly he fessed up to drawing with a pen. (My initial fear was that he had found a sharpie somewhere.) He showed me where he had drawn and it was only an ink pen on a small part of baseboard. I handed him a magic eraser and told him to clean. He did a decent job.
This is how we see him 95% of the time so I decided I might as well photograph him that way most of the time too.
Favorite sweatshirt. Favorite book. Life is good.
All girl toys stay in Kaitlyn’s room and are fiercely protected. That doesn’t necessarily mean they are played with very often, but she doesn’t want anyone else playing with them either.
While taking this picture, I thought I was getting a cute smile. When I put the pictures on my computer, I realized he was sticking his finger somewhere he shouldn’t. This kid is trouble!
