Eagle Eye Teague

I was fiddling with my earrings as I was typing on my computer. Unfortunately, one of the backs fell off my earring, hit the floor, and bounced on the hardwood floor. Normally I wouldn’t mind and would just grab another. This happened to be my diamond earring which means it had a screw on back. Those backs are much harder to come by and not a universal fit. (I know by experience.)

I was on the floor searching when Teague came home from school. He joined me in looking and kept looking long after I gave up. He even got a flashlight to look into the cracks of our hardwood floors (think wide plank and old, old house).

Teague wins the gold star because low and behold he found that earring back. It had bounced behind the leg of my desk and he somehow found it. Amazing.

This kid is so full of personality.

Snow Play

Today was reserved for playing in the snow. Wade got out his tractor to clear the driveway. The kids and I bundled up to play. I was pleasantly surprised when Alex joined us again today and then stayed outside the entire time. He even spent a good amount of time pushing Kaitlyn and Ben on the sleds.

Snow day!

Snow Day

Snow days will always be my favorite. We got 18 glorious inches and I loved watching it fall all day long. We had nowhere to be and spent the day doing our own projects or playing our own games. Tomorrow – we will play in the snow!

Alex bought some Krispy Kreme donuts through a fundraiser at school. He woke up this morning and realized he couldn’t wait to eat the rest or they would be stale. He’s trying to force himself to eat four donuts before he is even awake. Priorities.

Ben has become a “chewer” in recent weeks. He chews on his clothes and his hands constantly..

28 Jan

All Before 9

Ben is always a whirlwind. Today he continually bounced from one thing to another and then back again.

Another book in the series finished. I’m so glad we live within walking distance of the library.

A rare morning treat.

Check Ups

I used to take Alex and Teague for their yearly checkups together. I also used to have to take Kaitlyn and Ben along with them. I have gotten much smarter over the years (and I also have the help of elementary school and preschool). Now I schedule everyone for a time when they can go by themselves. This way each kid gets one on one time with the doctor and the entire visit is much less chaotic. Today was Teague’s turn. We were in and out in no time at all – easy peasy.

January 27, 2022

Alex has decided he is too good for breakfast so now he sleeps later and hides out in his room. I barely see him before he runs out the door just in time to walk to school.

27 Jan

January 27, 2022

Teague used to hate dishwasher duty (and probably still does) but most days he has it done before I even get up!
That’s progress.

Pirates play firefighters.

26 Jan

Little Boy Quirks

Ben tends to find an item and latch onto it for a little while. Sometimes it is a toy. Sometimes it is an article of clothing. Recently, he found this glove from an old Pokemon halloween costume of Alex’s. He has worn it every time he can remember to put it on. Tonight when I went in his room to turn off his light, I found him with the glove on his hand.

January 26, 2022

Kaitlyn created a game at school and was so excited to play it with us at home.

26 Jan

January 26, 2022

I found Ben trying to replace the batteries in his toy. I love his independence.

25 Jan

January 25, 2002

I’m not sure Alex sleeps anymore. He definitely reads most of the day and night.

25 Jan

January 25, 2022

We really need some new book suggestions. Anyone?

LOL dolls are the choice of the day.

It was time to prep dinner and I turned to the kitchen. Then I found this and decided maybe it was a night for take-out.

25 Jan

COVID Shortage

I am constantly amused by my trips to the grocery and the unexplainable shortages of random items. It appears that today that item is cream cheese. I remember hearing it would be hard to find around Christmas but I guess the shortage didn’t hit our store until after the New Year.

Tea Party

I was fixing lunch and entered the living room to find a tea party in progress.

23 Jan

January 23, 2022

I documented this day because Alex finally wore a coat.
(The windchill was -20.)

Skiing For Two

Teague finally mastered the chair lift in his skiing classes. That seemed like a good reason to go skiing together. We made time and spent the afternoon on the slopes. I was a little worried since I hadn’t been for 17 years or so, but it was an awesome day for both Teague and I.

22 Jan

January 22, 2022

Alex didn’t make it to the library to get a new book so he pulled out his kindle. The reading bug has really bit him lately.

22 Jan

January 22, 2022

It’s a cookie-kind of Saturday.

22 Jan

January 22, 2022

Kaitlyn passed a level in swim lessons and can’t wait for her next lesson in Glider 2.

22 Jan

January 22, 2022

I loved the stick figure Ben drew while I was cooking dinner.

22 Jan

Sticker Fun

Kaitlyn loves sticker books. These paint by sticker books are her favorite. I’m pretty sure she has done at least 5 or 6 at this point. My favorite is her method. She fills her hand with stickers but seems to always remember which sticker goes with which number.

Reader.

21 Jan

January 21, 2022

I love that he’s reading – but he’s going to have those books memorized..

21 Jan

January 21, 2022

Kaitlyn saw Ben’s getup from earlier and decided to join in the fun.
(This horse costume has been around for years – and before our house it was at my niece’s house.)

21 Jan

January 21, 2022

Yea-haw!

21 Jan

The Wild West

Ben saw Kaitlyn’s pink cowboy hat this morning and has worn it all day. My favorite is when he finally added the pink sleep mask and it made the perfect bad guy bandana. By the time dinner rolled around, Kaitlyn was joining in on the fun.

20 Jan

Homemade Queen

Kaitlyn has become very artistic in school lately. She came home with her own paper dolls the other day and has thoroughly enjoyed playing with them. The other one is currently missing but this one couldn’t wait to have her picture taken.
