And now this is his favorite play place..
Month: May 2020
Although I would gladly send my kids back to school in a heartbeat, I am loving the endless opportunities to photograph them.
I love to hear the laughs and giggles outside my kitchen window as these three play together.
Warmer days.
Water fun on this warm day.
Dancing the day away.
This is about the only outdoor activity that interests Alex but at least he joins us outdoors.
Maybe this will be the year Kaitlyn learns to ride a bike on two wheels – but none of my kids have been early to give up training wheels.
Today she is Ladybug from Miraculous!
Setting the train tracks up in the barn was one of our better ideas. Ben is fearless so it doesn’t bother him to play in the barn by himself. Now we just need him to understand that he has to tell someone when he is going to the barn.
Today the kids were back outside and playing in the water. Teague decided to teach Ben how to drink from the water hose and we all got a kick out of that.
Water table fun.
Ben has been pretty great about entertaining himself. Somedays that looks like building towers and poking a pencil through the holes in the seat of our chairs:
Favorite shirt. Favorite outdoor activity.
All this fresh air was too much for Teague.
Full of attitude!
Ben was al little perturbed I interrupted his playing for a picture.
Alex being Alex.
Teague loves to show off the funny songs he finds to Kaitlyn (and often Ben).
Sometimes nothing seems to go your way.
Yesterday was Mother’s Day and I still asked the kids to put on special clothes and take a picture with me. They agreed and I also took a cute picture of just the kids.
Breakfast chaos.
Working puzzles like a rockstar.
Kaitlyn asked to build a birdhouse and Wade has a very hard time saying no to any of her requests. In her Sunday best, they built a birdhouse. Quarantine has done funny things..
And the finished product:
Happy Mother’s Day.
Amazingly, after snow yesterday morning it was warm enough (barely) for the water slide today. Teague didn’t want to join in the fun but Alex played with the littles.
Teague has found all kinds of creative ways to use the laptop – very few of them are for approved school uses. Thankfully today is Saturday and he can have some free time to do as he pleases.
Waterslide!
Waterslide!
Mother Nature decided to throw a curve ball today:
Chocolate chip pie coming right up.
Teague definitely needs a break. Thank goodness it’s Friday.
Morning reading.
Today was a moody one.
Teague was not feeling all of the outside fun today.
I am 100% sure this was Alex’s idea, but you can tell from Kaitlyn’s face that she is loving every minute.
Ben has a reputation for eating anything. Here he is finishing a casserole before I can put it in the refrigerator. (It was a new recipe that no one else liked.)
The weather makes the afternoons so wonderful to be outside! The kids are definitely bored with everything inside and love being outside to run and play. Even Alex is enjoying playing with us outside.
Some days it takes more energy than others to keep everybody entertained. Today it took a lot just before noon! We made chocolate chip banana bread, read books, played with magnatiles and legos, and Kaitlyn started practicing haircuts on her new hair doll.
Alex has been spending more time outside playing basketball. I think he’s hoping our neighbor will challenge him again with the $1 reward.
Today we played with MadMatter.
I was amused when I looked up at breakfast to see that Kaitlyn had figured out a way to eat her breakfast in peace and quiet amongst our normal chaos with four kids at the kitchen island.
Alex was shooting hoops when our neighbor shouted out from his backyard, “I’ll give you a dollar if you make the next shot.” Alex made it and got the dollar!
Teague likes to skirt the line between doing homework and taking a nap. Sometimes I find it very hard to tell the difference.
Afternoon fun with magnatiles.
When we are all outside, somebody ends up swinging.
They are all having fun but only one is appropriately dressed for the weather today.
Ben and Kaitlyn were determined to play in the water today. Teague devised a wonderful game for them. Teague would have a water gun and shoot. They would try to run away. Amazingly, everyone had fun.
The kids were anxious to get outside today and play more with Ben’s water table. Before long they had moved on to water guns and other fun outside adventures. Ben was just excited to be included.
Their interest in Ben’s water table is holding strong.
