Alex spends a lot of time in his room so there’s a little bit of everything – Legos, iPad, schoolwork, Charade cards, and a lacrosse stick.
Month: May 2020
This is how they look during their “fun” iPad time. That’s not to be confused with their “school’ iPad time.
Ben was so excited to help Daddy with the tires.
Today we planted our garden. The big kids wanted to weigh in on what we were planting but had zero interest in doing any work. The littles were very interested in the planting and digging part.
Somebody finally got a haircut!
Evening tractor rides.
PE has gotten more interesting as time goes on. Today the boys has to create a tabletop game.
Kaitlyn wanted to practice her face painting.
Well here we go again – long t-shirts mean potty training. In Ben’s case this is take two!
Ben loves to be involved in everything. Today he helped me cook.
I think it might be time for a haircut.
School is proving to be very challenging these days.
Bagels and books.
Today a swan played in my kitchen all morning with magnets. Being Kaitlyn, she decided to switch out the original hairpiece with her pink and white feather one.
This one definitely looks like a teenager today.
These three are always up to something.
Ben loves our robot vacuum. He catches a ride at every opportunity. I find it hilarious so I do nothing to stop it. I’m pretty sure Wade would have a very different view so let’s just not tell him about this…
Slip n’ slide.
Slip n’ slide.
Slip n’ slide.
The kids got plenty of treats today. We let them all join us at the grocery store (a real outing these days) and each pick out their favorite ice cream.
Then after dinner we enjoyed some s’mores in the backyard!
You scream. I scream. We all scream for ice cream.
You scream. I scream. We all scream for ice cream.
You scream. I scream. We all scream for ice cream.
You scream. I scream. We all scream for ice cream.
Run. Run.
Run. Run. Run.
Today was one of those gorgeous days. I was glad when everyone was done with school (and nap) and ready to be outside and play.
The rules around this pandemic are continually changing. Pretty quickly after quarantine started, people did need to venture out. Masks were necessary. Sometimes the kids need to go with us, but they will need masks too. Wade’s mom has been making masks for people and offered to make them for us. They arrived today and everyone tried them on. Ben’s masks fits fine, but he actually prefers Kaitlyn’s pink one.
Rebound!
Swinging high.
Saturday silliness.
Our days have developed a little bit of a rhythm. Our mornings go something like this:
Most of our afternoons are spent outside if at all possible. Obviously we are at home and if it’s warm enough then we are in the water:
Jump and slide.
Ben and Kaitlyn were in their own little world today and it was so cute to watch.
Bookends enjoying this gorgeous day.
Morning shenanigans.
I decided a picnic lunch was just what we all needed. The kids were on board and we packed up and ate outside. The boys abandoned us pretty quickly after eating, but Kaitlyn was happy to stay outside for a few pictures.
Today we turned lunch into a picnic outside. Now I am wondering why we don’t do this more often.
With the current state of affairs, the kids rarely leave the property. Wade sometimes leaves to run errands. I leave to get groceries by myself. When I decided dinner would be Chick-fil-a, we turned it into a field trip.
Just using two sets of glasses to sort all the glasses.
Teague is in heaven driving and the little ones are loving the ride.
We have started to develop a routine of sorts. Schoolwork in the mornings. Naps and iPad/game time in the afternoon. Then we all had outside until Wade is done with work. Sometimes we all play. Sometimes the kids come up with their own crazy games while I read in the sun.
Alex rarely does a happy dance, but it’s awesome when he does.
These three and their outside games are endless.
These glasses are one of my favorite accessories floating around the house.
These look and find books are currently one of Ben’s favorite activities.
Alex’s favorite place to be.
Sunday afternoon naps are the best.
She’s pretty adorable in her big brother’s coat.
