Ben picks a favorite and sticks with it – for a while. These two construction books have been his favorites for the last few weeks. He was determined to bring them in the car with us today and has carried them with him all day. That includes every stop for gas and food. They come inside with us too.

Puppy love.
Ben is by far the best eater I have had. My kids are all pretty good, but this guy eats first and asks questions later. I’ve made all my favorites while the other kids are away and Ben is happy to eat with me. His favorite out of all of this is mushrooms – silly boy.

I’m painting this weekend and Ben and Wade are helping me with some projects too.
Now that I’m down to one child for a few days, I decided to attempt a few projects. The biggest one was painting Alex’s bedroom. With Wade’s help, I did manage to get it done!

I asked Ben to pick up his puzzle. I was in the other room so I was curious what he would do without any help. I was rather impressed.
These kiddos are all on their way to the airport to visit grandparents for the week.
First child that is messing with the stove. This one is T-R-O-U-B-L-E.
The boys had quite the big dig going on today.
I’d love to know what she thinks she is looking for.
Hi you.
Kaitlyn loves Legos and especially princess legos. She is my first child that is able to put them together by herself immediately. It’s pretty fun to watch and makes me proud.
Today we took our monkeys to the zoo.
We made our first trip the local zoo. Actually, there are a few zoos in the area, but we haven’t been to any of them yet. Our friends were going for the day so we tagged along. Keeping up with this nine kiddos was harder than anticipated since they all wanted to go a different direction, but we had them all at the end!
Clue was Kailtyn’s pick. (If only she could read the words and didn’t have to have someone help her mark every single step of the game.)
This child rarely eats in his high chair. Today under the table seemed like a good spot.
Obviously we have to document a black eye.
Kaitlyn could live on PB&Js. I think her favorite part of summer activities is that we brown bag it and most of the time she gets a PB&J.
Ben loves his new chair. Now he feels like a big kid at the beach.
I knew the weather looked iffy, but we needed an activity for the day. We headed to the lake. Due to the weather, we didn’t see many friends. Of course that didn’t stop my kids. Alex decided to go fishing and caught a fish! Teague made some new friends. Kaitlyn just ate snacks all afternoon. Then it poured! Thankfully it was a quick shower and we waited it out. A little rain never hurt.
Wade and I got 6 kids dressed and to church on time. We are superheroes.
Today was the last day with our cousins so after church, we took them to our old house and the pool! Everyone had a great time swimming and jumping in our own private pool.
Birthday party food is the best!
Birthday Party time!!
Testing out the bouncy house.
Scheduling Kaitlyn’s birthday party is always a little tricky. Do we do it early so that we can send invites through the school? Do we do it after the Fourth of July holiday? This year we purposely did it quite late so that her cousins could join in the fun! We planned on a bouncy house and my only fear was rain. I did not even think that it would be the hottest day of the year. The heat index was almost 100. The poor kids wanted to bounce and jump so badly and could only stand the heat for a few minutes at a time. Thankfully we had plenty of drinks and snacks in the air conditioned inside. The kids would play outside and then run inside. I should have done a waterslide blowup!
My nieces have family in New York and were visiting this summer. It only made since for them to come see us for the weekend! My kids were so excited to have their cousins visit and I was curious to see if I could handle all 6 for an entire weekend. The girls arrived today and immediately we pulled out the water slide.
My two nieces are visiting for the weekend. I definitely have everything under control….
Talking with Milwaukee friends.
Sneaky nap struck again.

Books with puppy.
Kaitlyn and Laila have the cutest friendship. Heena bought them matching dresses this summer so of course they wanted to wear them on their playdate today. I had two giggling girls all day. There was a princess sleepover. There was lots of playing in the market. These two would be happy all day together.
These two boxes at the backdoor provided an entire morning of fun.

Now that our house is on the market, I am guessing this will be our last year to take our yearly pool picture. I thought I’d do a comparison of how the kids have changed over the years we have been in this house.
