Teague had a little fun playing with Ben this morning.
Month: February 2018
Laser tag is still a favorite – especially when Wade plays against the boys.
Granny and Pop arrived today for a long visit and Teague helped me cook dinner. (He made his drop biscuits – one of our favorites!)
When Daddy takes the day off, it’s easy to convince him to set up a tent and play games with you.
Madison has been very confused since I moved Ben’s monkey into the kitchen. She assumes it is a pillow for her but I keep putting a baby in her spot.
The face of part-regret and part-grump. The boys have been fighting over “not” unloading the dishwasher in the morning. Yesterday I decreed an extra dessert in the lunchbox for the person unloading the dishwasher. Teague forgot this morning and growled about having to unload it. I gave the job to Alex and Teague suddenly realized he lost dessert. Oops.
When you are a cute little girl, you get a free balloon at the grocery store.
Again with the hand in the mouth. No actual thumb sucking yet.
Reading while everyone else gets ready.
After visiting one of her favorite places (the grocery store), my little sidekick couldn’t wait to help me put it all away.
Going through his Valentine’s Day goodies.
(Probably the first time all of my kids haven’t been in red on Valentine’s Day. Alex gets up, showered, and dressed before I see him. I didn’t think to lay out something red the night before so he picked his clothes.)
Going through his Valentine’s Day goodies.
“When Daddy gets home can he fix my tights?”
Hamming it up for the camera.
Today was party day at Teague’s school. Wade came home at lunch to watch the littlest two. I packed up my bags of goodies and headed to school. The kids were super excited to see me and get their party started. We had a busy day with two crafts – heart painting and signs. Then we had games to fill the rest of the time – heart hopscotch, cupid arrow toss, and flip and color pages.
It’s definitely with relief that I can say there is only one more class party this year!
Complete.
Signing Valentines.
Ballet.
She read to him all morning while I folded laundry.
I have not worked with Kaitlyn and her ABCs at all. She can sing the song and knows “K for Kaitlyn” “T for Teague” and “A for Alex”. Those are the only letters she consistently recognizes. Today she was reading this book out loud. As she got to this page, I started paying attention – hoping she had somehow been learning her letters at school or on her own.
“H is for boxes”
Guess not.
Birthday Legos!
To celebrate the 100th day of school, Teague has to pick something to do 100 times each day. Today he built a creation with 100 legos.
Poor Kaitlyn definitely has my hair.
Morning books.
I always end up dreading Valentine’s Day. The holiday is fine and I enjoyed it before kids – although we never did much to celebrate. Now I have two boys with birthdays on either side of the holiday. To top it off this year, I am room mom in Teague’s class and have to plan a party with crafts and activities. I feel like I have no time/effort for all the cute stuff I see other Mom’s do – decorations at home, heart shaped pancakes, etc. I do try to find fun valentine’s cards for the kids to give their classes. In our last school everyone wanted candy so we just found store bought ones with candy. This school is anti-sugar. You can’t even bring it in and send it home with the kids. I used pinterest (the only way I come up with cute ideas) and looked for non-candy valentines. I saw what I wanted and immediately asked Wade if he could make it. My awesome husband did more than create the file I needed. He print them all, cut them all out, and stapled them all together. (This is 60 valentines – for 3 kids to take to school.) He’s my hero.
Happy Birthday Alex!
(They may not look happy but they were annoyed I took them away from Birthday celebrations for a picture.)
It feels like Alex should be a lot younger her than 9. I’m sure he was just 3 years old a short while ago. Regardless, he was so excited for his birthday and we celebrated all day long. (The perks of having a birthday on the weekend!) His biggest want was a Ninjago Lego set – which he got. His favorite gift was a set of laser tag guns. His requested cake was “The World’s Best Chocolate Cake,” which is actually a recipe you can find online. (Actually there are a ton of them.)
One of my favorite birthday moments occurred after all the gifts were opened. I was cleaning up paper and stacking boxes. I looked over to see that the new toys were all laying on the ground and all three of my older kids were together and enthralled in Alex’s new book. My kids are definite book worms – all of them.
Guess what we did today?
More Olympics!
These feet don’t look particularly big. They definitely aren’t thick or wide. However, I had to move Ben up in clothing sizes with footed feet. His feet were too long for the clothes.
I can only imagine the views our neighbors across the street have every evening…
I have tried to choose the same pacifiers for all of my children. Avent makes a clear pacifier that I discovered when Alex was born. I was so happy it didn’t have cartoons or something silly on it. As the years (and pictures) went by, I realized I loved it also because it wasn’t as glaring in pictures as others would have been. For some reason I couldn’t find the entirely clear ones when Kaitlyn was a baby, but they were easy to find when Ben was born.
Alex made history tonight with the most balls recorded in a single day.
Dressed in red and blue and ready to watch some Olympics.

Swim lessons.

Just hanging with Daddy.
Snow day shenanigans.
Three of my favorite Burch men.
After a decent break, Kaitlyn has returned to puzzle working.
I was cooking dinner and looked over to see that Ben put himself to sleep tonight.
I never quite got around to doing monthly comparison pictures with Kaitlyn. With Ben I actually have been doing 2 versions. One shows up on the daily pictures and has some current information too. The other is a very simple picture of him in a chair with a stuffed animal for quick comparison.
Kaitlyn and I walked out of dance class to find a winter wonderland (and they predicted flurries). We decided it was a day to have muffins for lunch.
Reader.
Today he makes fudge.
Kaitlyn wanted to play games all day today. I would play a game and then attempt to return to laundry, cleaning, etc. She would say, “I play by myself and then you come play.” How can you turn her down?
Hello blue eyes.
