Happy Mother’s Day!
Month: May 2017
I was very clear before we left the house that we were going to play in the sand. No one was supposed to go in the water…
Only the iPad could bring them together so close for so long.
Library – we love you.
Library – we love you.
Today we have an extra friend for the bus stop routine.
Sneaky nap strikes again. These are my favorite afternoons.
We had a neighbor hang out with us before school this morning and he brought treats for everybody!
I have been in a MOPS group the last several years but always in a different city or church. This year I am doing MOPS through Heritage Church (our church) and loving it! It’s one of the most involved groups I have been in and also the largest. I agreed to be a table leader for the year and this is my group!
If only I could feed them popcorn for dinner.
Cars. Cars. Cars.
Still her favorite place on Earth.
Our house is officially on the market. I’m hoping it sells quickly mostly because I can’t maintain a “show ready” house for long.
Bus time.
Shorts weather can’t come soon enough!
First beach day – and definitely too cold to even have your toes in the water.
Kaitlyn is always begging “Alla” to play.
A typical afternoon for Teague while Kaitlyn is napping (and I often am too).
Everyone loves when Daddy is home.
Why not end the day with ice cream and milk shakes?
Pop reads.
Kaitlyn orders her ice cream by color – not flavor. Lately it’s always, “pink please.”
Family picture.
These kids are so ready for warm weather that they are making it happen. It was definitely too cold for a car wash but who was I to say no? They washed two cars and then tried to “sunbathe” but ended up wrapped in their towels instead.
Bonding.
Kitchen helpers.
Snuggles with Pop.
Backstage at a dance recital.
The new favorite thing in our house is building forts which usually turns into jumping on the couch and throwing pillows. Today all three joined in on the fun.
Just a little wrestling.
Granny and Teague making Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread – best thing ever!
I see this picture and think of the song “Bouncing Around The Room” by Phish.
This perfectly sums up how I anticipate the 2-4 year old dance routine will go.
I’m not a great meal planner. I tend to buy staples every week in a big grocery run and then the day of focus on dinner for that night. This almost always requires an additional quick trip to the grocery or having Wade pick up something on his way home from work. The exception is when we have guests to visit. Then I actually plan out meals and try to have everything in the house. (Things go so much smoother you think I would adopt this for all time, but nope.) Today I was working on my grocery list for the weekend and Kaitlyn wanted to help. Maybe she’ll end up being better at this someday than I am.
Alex and Granny – making plans.
Teague loves nothing more than spending time with Pop.
She can make her own breakfast – good to know.
Sometimes Daddy flies in mid-week and does a little working from home.
I’m not sure my children have ever played hopscotch. There was a game set up outside of school today and all the boys loved jumping and hopping.
Some nights (when Daddy is in Boston) we have popcorn, cookies, and a movie.
Another day. Another broken pair of glasses.
Taking three kids to the dentist at one time is not for the faint of heart. Thankfully the boys are pretty good about the cleanings without an adult present. I did walk in right before Teague’s cleaning was done to snap a picture. Then the dentist and I had a long discussion about some extra teeth. (Hint – oral surgery upcoming)
Taking three kids to the dentist at one time is not for the faint of heart. Thankfully the boys are pretty good about the cleanings without an adult present. Kaitlyn rocked her cleaning today and managed to sit in the chair by herself and smile the entire time.
Sneaky nap strikes again.
