Picture with Santa.
(Nailed it.)
Month: December 2015
It was a day full of activities. The morning was spent at Teague’s school doing Christmas crafts, visiting Santa, and enjoying a hayride.
That evening I drove the boys to Milwaukee for Abram’s birthday party. The boys have always loved Swiss Turners and tonight was no exception. There was lots of running and jumping and bouncing.
I ended up in the back corner with the younger kids on the trampoline. They were practicing their bouncing and I was practicing my action photography. We both got better as the night progressed. (My favorite was when Iris realized what we were doing. She would jump and then come running over to see her picture. Thankfully she didn’t seem bothered by the lack of height on her jumps!)
We are a little late, but the boys’ finally got out the communicator to talk to Santa.
(Thank you year at Hallmark!)
It got a little too quiet so I went hunting for Kaitlyn and found her playing happily in the boys’ shower. I’m just thankful she can’t reach the knob for the water yet!
This is what it takes to get three kids (and Mom) through two hours of soccer practice.
(But see that ribbon around Alex’s neck? That means the last practice of the session! And we are done for the season!)
The group picture and the arms raised? That means the last practice of the session! (And the last one of the winter for us – we are taking a break!)
It’s Thursday evening. You will never guess where we are.
Their new game is to catch Tabit. I almost wish she wasn’t such a good cat.
She’s into everything…
Granny and Pop sent Christmas books and handmade ornaments!
Workmen showed up early this morning to begin moving our laundry room to an upstairs closet. For some reason I thought they were coming next week so we weren’t quite prepared. We quickly cleaned out the closet and have otherwise been very happy to have them. Kailtyn’s naps are suffering a little, but today’s morning nap happened just fine in a pack-n-play in the playroom.
We do love Christmas pajamas in this house.
Sunday best.
We’ve been a little out of sorts this year in terms of holidays. We didn’t decorate for Halloween until the weekend of our Halloween Party and we still haven’t taken down our Halloween decorations (Yes, you read that right. We have ghosts and goblins up in December and not a single Santa – yet.) We normally get our Christmas tree the weekend before Thanksgiving but this year we had a huge snow and didn’t leave the house the entire weekend except to sled in the front yard. That put off Christmas tree hunting till after the holidays and here we are hunting for a tree in a new city on a busy weekend. Thankfully we found a wonderful Christmas tree farm with a huge selection of our preferred trees.
Christmas tree successfully acquired.

She cried for me on the monitor, but when I got to her room she wasn’t really sure she was ready to be be held.
This morning they stole my bathroom.
(Kaitlyn’s face sums up the experience perfectly!)
I have lost control of my kitchen.
She took three regular sized peanut butter crackers and created a monster-sized sandwich.
Nightly reading homework.
Normally when I pick Teague up from school the teacher calls his name from the door and he then comes outside the classroom to where I am waiting. Today I knew he wasn’t coming when the teacher called. I finally looked inside to see what was causing a problem. Thankfully I had my camera ready.
These three boys are always together and either running, jumping, wrestling, or hugging.
Sometimes the best way to wake up from a nap is by sharing a snack with some friends.
