Teague was lucky enough to have his fourth birthday fall on a Saturday. He got everybody’s attention all day long! (Granny and Pop drove in yesterday so they could help us celebrate too.) We started the day with the requested coffee cake, plate presents, and “money.” (Teague requested money for his birthday so his bank could get as full as Alex’s.)
Kaitlyn timed her morning nap perfectly and woke up just as we were finishing up the morning fun and getting ready for our day downtown at Science City. I had heard great things about Science City and they were all true. It was amazing. I was also shocked at how empty it was on a Saturday. There were no large crowds or long lines for the “fun stuff.” We could easily do all we wanted and there were plenty of places to sit with Kaitlyn when she needed a break.
Teague’s request for lunch had been macaroni and cheese. I couldn’t find an awesome kid restaurant so I went with the best macaroni and cheese in Kansas City. We ended up at McCoy’s Public House. Teague heartily approved of the macaroni and cheese and the adults thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The best part was the birthday boy got complimentary warm chocolate chip cookies and milk in a mason jar!
