Alex came home from school singing “Trick or Treat. Smell my feet. Give me something good to eat. If you don’t, I don’t care. I’ll pull down your underwear.” (Ah, memories.) We convinced him that saying “Trick or Treat” followed by a “thank you” might be the best choice.
Because we only have a few neighbors we took the kids to the downtown trick or treating in Weston. How fun to walk the tiny downtown and see so many friends from school.
Someone could use a nap.
Anytime Teague is left alone with Kaitlyn he takes off her socks…
Kaitlyn still loves her baths.
This boy.
He’s hoping I won’t notice the pencil sharpener in his hands, which he is definitely not allowed to use.
(The pencils end up nubs by the time he is done.)
Just going for a little drive.
Glasses…
Sneaking a sip of Mom’s drink.
Teague was so excited to “babysit” Kaitlyn while I took a shower.
The boys finally found some leaves.
Good morning beautiful. (Did I mention she slept till 8:30 this morning?)
I am not crafty. I am not creative. However, I love to see these qualities in other people. One of my favorite photographers to follow (Andrea Hanki) is both. I love the costume she came up with for her youngest son (and his pacifier)!
My normal kitchen island setup has a red and white striped pitcher full of spatulas and spoons next to the stove. As I was decorating for Halloween, I realized a black and white pitcher would be prefect! Thankfully the one I have is also made in black and sold on Amazon. I ordered it a few days before the party and it arrived the day before but with a large crack down the side. I went ahead and used it for decor but requested a replacement from Amazon. I have now received two additional pitchers that were shattered in the shipping process.
First lesson in cheese dip making. (It occurred to me today that the boys could help me open all the American cheese slices).
This girl was quite happy to be left with her Daddy while the boys and I went out.
I have no idea how we have ended up on so many mailing lists (I am fanatical about calling to remove our names), but at this rate Alex’s Christmas list will be 20 pages long.
Stripes on stripes with a wagon of cars.
Post-outfit, pre-pajama time
Glasses have been chosen. Now we just have to wait for them to be made.
Doesn’t everyone sit on the coffee table to read?
(I do, which is definitely where he gets it.)
Current favorite – the mirror.
Today Alex realized the robot vacuum could make Legos even better.
Just doing a little cleanup.
Baby clothes – the only time you can get away with having something cute on the butt of your outfit.
Kaitlyn has a had a touch of something (sickness-wise). I thought it was Hand, Foot, and Mouth but I have not seen any sores. She had a low grade fever one day. The two biggest things I have noticed are a lot less eating and a lot more sleeping. Kaitlyn and I met my friend Katie for breakfast and Kaitlyn was a great companion. She smiled and giggled for a little bit and then fell asleep (and slept) while Katie held her and we talked.
Digging for buried treasure.
Daddy and Teague.
This little one slept till almost 9 this morning, when I had to wake her up for us to make our breakfast date.
Lego time.
Books (about fairies).
Alex’s sleep drastically changed when we put him on his stomach. I attempted it with Kaitlyn today. She decided it wasn’t for her.
Guess what Alex will soon be wearing?
I miss the Tosa recycling program. Here we have to sort it and then take it to a recycling facility. I have bins labeled with pictures in the garage and the boys are great about taking things to the correct bin for me.
Kaitlyn has taken long naps and been extra snuggly today. Tonight I also realized she has eaten very little and has sores in her mouth.
Hand, Foot, Mouth strikes again.
I’ve been contacted by numerous people over the years about Alex’s rocketship bed. (see here and here) Most people want more details, plans, etc – which we sadly don’t have. (Wade mostly created the bed as he was building it with materials he could easily acquire.) Wade has tried to help a few people with their questions, but that’s been the end of it. Then I received an email from someone having the bed made. Donna agreed to send me a picture and I love how the bed for her son turned out!

The re-creation:
Bedtime books.

Last soccer games of the season.
