The boys always love a trip to the library but this library had computers too!

I thought I was so smart to have my first OB appointment with my doctor scheduled for my first morning in town. The boys would be gone with their grandparents and the movers would just be starting their unloading. Unfortunately, going to a new doctor meant they wanted to do an exam and then they discovered I was slightly dilated. That could be normal for a second pregnancy or that could be an indicator of early labor. With my history, I left on “modified bed rest” and another appointment for next week.

We arrived in Platte City last night but pretty much went straight to our hotel and bed. Today we met friends for breakfast (Yay for a Nascar Race in Kansas City and a visit from Matt and Krista) and then went to explore our new house. The boys seemed excited and before long Granny and Pop arrived to take them on a week-long adventure to Fayetteville (where Aunt Emmie lives).
Happy Mother’s Day.
Today we made our last stop at our green house. Madison had spent the last few nights with the Buchmans and Tabit had been roaming free. We found Tabit relatively easily (thank goodness) and then she managed to escape her carrier and lead us on a merry chase. We did catch her, but Wade’s hands suffered greatly from her displeasure. Both boys got to say their last good-byes to best friends living across the street.
Now this is what I like to see in my backseat during a long drive.

Today was Alex’s last day of school. (Schools in Platte City get out around Memorial Day so we aren’t going to transfer him to a new school for just a few weeks.) He brought home all kinds of end-of-year papers and projects and we took one last picture with Miss Christensen.
The moving truck pulled out this afternoon and our house is empty (and mostly clean)! Wade decided we needed to take care of the stain on the front steps so he spent part of the night adding a little more sealer. My awesome neighbors arranged a goodbye fondue dinner so we spent a great evening eating and playing and taking pictures!

The moment has come to disassemble the rocket ship bed.
Entertainment on a cold day with no toys in a very busy house.
7:35 AM – Alex has finished breakfast and is playing with Legos while Teague eats as slowly as possible.
7:58 AM – Both boys scream with excitement as the moving truck pulls up.
10:22 AM – I was the Mystery Reader for Alex’s class today and got to join him for snack.
1:53 PM – Alex’s last tour with Tour Club was today at the Harley-Davidson Museum.
3:45 PM – We decided to play outside to give the packers some room to work.
6:17 PM – The boys love the maze and forts created by all the boxes in our house.

(Big thanks to Amber for feeding my kids dinner!)
Look who decided to try out the high bar today.
We might have tried to do a little too much today, but it sure was fun! After picking Alex up from school, we ran home for a quick lunch and to accept delivery of the boys’ new bunk beds. Then we met Riley and Glenna at Swiss Turners for a last open gym. How perfect that there were only a few other kids and ours basically had the place to themselves.
Brothers being brothers.
Puppy love.
Teague is going to be so sad when he realizes this bike isn’t going to live on the main floor in our new house.
(Mom is beyond tired of having it constantly underfoot.)
Bowling!
Everybody wanted to help B bowl.
Alex convinced his playmate to help fix the bathroom sink. When I went to check on them they had managed to disconnect the stopper so we had a lesson in putting it back together.
Train building.
One of Alex’s friends brought this Flying Bird to school last week. A bunch of boys stayed after school to play together and the bird got broken. The owner was quite upset and Alex decided to make him a new one.
