Teague always requests that I put him to bed, but tonight we decided to mix things up a little.
Month: October 2013
A picnic dinner, roasting hot dogs in the fire, and a movie. Great Saturday night!
Two monkeys in a tree. (Alex has been wanting to climb this tree all week but we never have time on the way to school. Today it was a nice treat after nap.)
Monkey in a tree.
Alex is taking a trip to the pumpkin farm with his class in a few weeks so we decided to go as a family today. (Alex has the day off school.) Wade mentioned returning to Green Meadows and the boys quickly agreed. (Forgive the picture overload. We had a great day and the grandparents will love all the pictures.)
Alex on the way to the post office to mail his box for B. He drew two pictures and picked out a hot wheels car. Then he requested a box and told me we needed to send it to B. Of course we boxed it up and headed out to mail it.
Teague’s current favorite book is about shapes. He wants to read it over and over and over.
I have fought “Little Legos” for quite a while. (Duplos are still great and both boys play with them all the time.) We told Alex he couldn’t put them on a Birthday or Christmas list until he was 5 (and now I wish I had said 6). He loves to play with them and does a great job, but he can’t build the sets. If anything falls apart, which it does often, then he needs help. I would be fine if all he had was a tub of loose bricks, but instead he has managed to accumulate about 10 small sets. Wade and I have contributed to this with trips to the Lego Store on their free minibuild nights. He patiently waits in line over an hour to build a small car/figure and then plays with it for weeks on end… (Tonight’s build was a fire plane)
Lately Alex has been picking up adult books (meaning no pictures) and “reading” them out loud. It’s hilarious what he comes up with.
I am bad about picking toys/activities at the back of the closet. Today I finally got out the puzzles and Teague loved working them – especially the ones that make sounds.
Amber, Iris, Grant, Teague, and I took a walk this morning to the new coffee house down the street (we don’t drink coffee but the cookies are excellent). It was just good luck to run into Nicki, Toni, and Glenna taking a walk too. Then I tried to get the boys to play in the leaves, but they weren’t very interested.
Alex used his old bicycle wheel and created this “one wheeler”.
Vitamin line-up.
(Every morning when they hear the vitamins in my bottle rattle, all three of them come running for their vitamins.)
Silly boys enjoying the fall weather.
Shop time.
Shop time.
Football watching – the only way Wade can see GaTech.
Alex’s teacher has been out sick and he wanted to color her a picture. I was pretty impressed with how much he colored and that the vast majority of the coloring was in the lines.
Measuring.
Focused (or at least one of them is).
Teague’s normal pose while getting his hair dried.
There have been some recent modifications to the plane Wade and Alex built. It was always called The Cucumber (a code word for airplane because what was being built was a secret). After a trip to the hardware store Wade could add the cockpit and tail.
This bike was not built for two.
I managed to capture quite a few of my favorite “looks” from Teague all in one sitting.
The two seconds they both decided to watch TV. (Then Teague was up and into other things.)
