Alex slept till a record breaking 9:30 this morning! Wade rushed him downstairs for breakfast (which closed at 10) and then we had a leisurely time getting ready for the day. We had planned our trip out in advance and managed to pair almost every meal with old friends (and favorite restuarants). Mandy and her boyfriend met us for lunch at Sticky Fingers (BBQ!!) Alex showed his true roots and ate an entire kid’s plate of pulled pork.
We made it back to the hotel in time for Alex’s nap (and he happily slept in the bathroom). By the time he woke up the rain had cleared so we ventured out to Falls Park. I was hoping to get a good “2 year” picture (to explain Alex’s shirt), but didn’t get exactly what I wanted. We had a lot of fun anyway!

Enjoying the park in Greenville.
Ready to fly to Atlanta!
Today we leave for a week of – the South, adult-only time, and the SEC tournament. Our trip greatly resembles the Road Trip of 2009 except we flew to Atlanta and then drove to Greenville, SC instead of driving the entire trip.
We loaded up all the necessary luggage (five bags and a car seat) and arrived at the airport with plenty of time.
We killed some time with lunch and Oreos:
Alex loved watching the planes land and take off. He even had some of the ground crew waving to him:
We finally boarded the plane and then sat for an hour while the wings were de-iced and a window shade was removed. Alex went down for a nap in Wade’s arms without a peep and then woke up happy to play and snack. (For my favorite plane picture see here.)
We arrived in Atlanta, gathered our bags, chose a rental car (the new Jeep Cherokee), and stopped at Eats for dinner. Yum!
Now on to Greenville, SC!

Nicki, Amber, and I planned a trip to the outlets today. I offered to drive because of the DVD player in my car. It turns out we didn’t need it. Abram had a new Buzz Lightyear and was happy to let Alex play with an older one. They were both entertained the entire way there….
The boys were great at the mall and had a lot of fun running around on the sidewalks. Gymboree was definitely their favorite store:
Alex is a bike riding fool – maybe we’ll try one with pedals soon.
Last week we found out Alex had a double ear infection – with no symptoms. He sure loves his medicine.
Alex loves to help with household chores. His favorite activity is feeding Madison and Tabit. He also loves to “help” me fold laundry. Today I asked him to go put his pajamas in the drawer – having no idea if he even knew which drawer to put them in. I later walked into his room to find this:
He got the right drawer. The rest of it might need a little work.
After MDO snack – and only the second time he has agreed to eat oranges.
