Wade’s latest project has been the basement. He decided to put down new flooring, close off the storage area, and build an office. It’s still pretty messy and dusty, but the construction is done:
Wade’s office has painted walls, exposed brick, and lots of the “old things” Wade loves to collect. Points to anyone who can tell me what he made the light hanging over his chair out of (hint: he found it at work):
Month: January 2010
I’m jealous of those big blue eyes.
Alex was all smiles today:
Madison even taught Alex how to play tug:
You wouldn’t know he was still missing his pacifier. We had decided he was giving it up for New Year’s, but his last suck was the car ride home on 12/26. We couldn’t find one when we put him to bed that night so we began a little early. Alex has had some second thoughts, but I think he’s no longer dependent.
The church nursery did tell me he tried to steal another little boy’s nuk so he hasn’t completely forgotten them.
He doesn’t look too sad about giving up his nuk, but then I’m not sure he realizes it is gone.
Alex woke up from his nap and decided Dad needed to wake up too:
Alex is learning it is fun to share. He uses his empty spoon to feed me while I feed him. Tonight he applied the same principle to Madison and her bone. He takes the bone away from her, plays with it, and then gives it back. Wade and I watched this for quite a while before we thought to get a camera.
Snuggles with Daddy.
Alex was not excited about the temperature today (around 5 degrees), or maybe it was the mittens and hat he wasn’t excited about:
Tonight we had a neighborhood round robin. We had five couples visiting three houses. We started next door, moved across the street, and then back to our house. I had a lot of fun preparing the treats:
I was pleasantly surprised by Alex’s happiness. He was definitely up past his bedtime and only got grumpy towards the end. Bo and Damian found him amusing. Dawn, Amber (arm showing), and Nick hung out with Wade in our kitchen. It took a little convincing to get everyone into the living room and some of hte food eaten:
Alex was not excited about the temperature today (around 5 degrees), or maybe it was the mittens and hat he wasn’t excited about.
It appears Alex doesn’t like chocolate. He was begging for a bite of my chocolate chip cookie so I gave him a few crumbs. He ate the bites and then spit out only the chocolate. This can’t be my child….
