As a rule I don’t have the TV on when Alex is in the room. If the TV is on, he quickly zones out and sits like a zombie. Well today I made an exception. Alex was super fussy all day and I finally put in a baby Einstein for him to watch.
Later I realized he has a tooth about to break through. The upper right is so close I can see it, but it hasn’t quite broken the gum. At least now I understand the fussiness.

Silly Daddy. Tired boy.
I feel like I didn’t see Alex all day. He still hasn’t adjust to the time change and was up at 6 am. Wade gave him a bottle and then put him back to bed while I slept (thanks Wade!). I got up with him from 7:30-8 and then he took a nap until we were out the door for Mother’s Day Out. He came home from Mother’s Day Out and slept and slept and slept. After five hours worth of napping I had given up on seeing Alex again tonight, but he finally woke up. We fed him and played for a few minutes before putting him back to bed:
I think Madison enjoyed the change of pace and being the center of my attention once again:
Alex didn’t adjust to the time change very well, but he did get a nice nap in before church. When he woke up from the nap he was ready to go:
Madison has been rather needy all weekend and was even looking to Alex for attention after church:
Wade and I decided a hike sounded like fun. I was put in charge of finding a trail and went to the internet for help. We did end up at a trail, with great views of Lake Geneva, but essentially we walked through people’s backyards. I think next time I will read descriptions a little more closely.
It was a great test run for Alex’s new backpack carrier and he seems to love it:
We stopped for dinner at the Next Door Pub & Pizzeria and had some great pizza before heading home.
Dressed for church.
