I think Alex’s mouth is in this position 90% of the day.

Cranky Pants (photograph courtesy of Wade)
These have got to be my favorite pants. I love all three of the standard Cranky Pants, but had to choose just one. Maybe someday we’ll add the pirate and sock monkey to our collection.
Plastic bowls are so much fun.
Deep discussions.
Alex and I were up and playing by 7:30. He obviously doesn’t know that Saturday means you can sleep a little later than usual. He has a new blanket/rug that is fantastic. It’s heavily padded and perfect for the occasional fall backwards. I found them in Paducah and they are made by Bestever.
Alex was a happy boy today. He watched me cook baby food and then took a nap while I mowed the lawn (hopefully for the last time). Then he played in the yard while Wade and I cleaned out the garage – a car would actually fit in it again!
I have been looking for a way to store Alex’s bags and coats. I knew what I wanted, but couldn’t find it in stores. Wade offered to build me one and now we have it up:
Then we decided on an evening out – dinner at Habanero’s and bowling. Alex was great through both and seemed fascinated by all the people and noise at the bowling alley.
Teething. Teething. Teething.
The bathroom is mostly done. The shower door arrives on Thursday and the built-in cabinet will wait till Wade’s shop is back in working order. (The built-in cabinet is essentially in the same location as the cubby in the before picture – next to the toilet.) After much work (4 months) and lots of talk, the bathroom is done.
The before:
Happy Birthday Mom!
Madison escaped this morning (darn dog) and I had to walk to the neighbors to pick her up. To put Alex’s stroller back in my car, I put him on the ground. Madison was wondering around the driveway with her leash trailing. When I turned back around, Alex had grabbed onto the leash.
Alex is fascinated with Madison. Madison tolerates Alex. Madison escaped this morning (darn dog) and I had to walk to the neighbors to pick her up. To put Alex’s stroller back in my car, I put him on the ground. Madison was wondering around the driveway with her leash trailing. When I turned back around, Alex had grabbed onto the leash.
I didn’t get a picture when Madison tried to walk away. She stopped when she felt tension on the leash and didn’t pull Alex over. It was hilarious to see little Alex holding a taunt leash and Madison looking bewildered.
