Furniture Loading and a Christmas Party

Madison woke us up bright and early so I took her downstairs, put on an electric fence collar (the beauty of staying at my dad’s house), and pushed her out the door. Granted it is hovering around 35 degrees and raining, but I have no pity at 5 am. I woke up for real at 8:30 and went downstairs to find Dad and Laura cooking breakfast. Madison saw me and quickly started whining at the door. I brought her in and we took a quick shower. I had some work stuff I needed to finish up and realized it was going to take me quite a while, but we also needed to load up the furniture from my Grandmother’s house that we were taking to Milwaukee. I called my Aunt and Uncle and my cousins (who all live beside my grandmother’s house) but no one was home. Then I called Nick and he agreed to help (THANK YOU). He and Wade loaded all the furniture while I finished working.

Tonight was my dad’s big Christmas Party. Tons of people come and eat and drink. Normally I see lots of family friends but rarely someone my age. However, this year Johnna and Nick were invited and it was great to hang out with them. We ventured outside to enjoy the snow, but the outdoor fireplace and heaters weren’t keeping us warm.

We grabbed a couple of chairs by the fire and spent the rest of the night talking. I didn’t realize until too late that the caterers were cleaning up the food. I had big plans for the leftover fruit and chocolate fountain. Maybe next year.

  1. The pictures turned out good. Thanks! We had a great time and Nick was glad to spend time with Wade, even if they were working! Now, for our ultimate Nashville plan…
    See you Sunday!
